Just had a thought. What if those nutty little screwballs at Botcon gave us G2 Jazz, which essentially would be our first official version of a Classics Jazz with a neon colored gun. =P~

So from what you're saying.. if you just got the box then yes, more Autobots than Decepticons. However at the actual event, there are several 'attendance' figures that are given away for free, and ones that can be bought. They were...

So that leaves us with alot of freaking exclusive figures. They aren't luck of the draw at all, any common person at Botcon can buy these.

Now to Botcon 2010. The one's we've seen so far are Rapido and Spark. We don't know if they will be in the box set or simply attendee figures. Everything's still up in the air..

I had hoped they would tone down some of the G2 colors. No need for pinkish red these days ... just a nice solid shade of red would be fine with me.

Ah well ...

With that said, I'm still extremely excited about a G2 set. I'd much rather have this than Shattered Glass or the 2009 set. The G2 set has the possibility of being my favorite set yet. The Beast Wars set is probably my my most favorite so far for its sheer creativity, though I'm obviously a big fan of the 2007 set as well.

Spark and Pyro are one and the same. I think the IDW comics refer to him as Pyro, but Spark works for me as well.

Two more thoughts before I call it a night ...

1) I'm very pleased that they're using the G2 logos. I was really bummed that the Walmart exclusive Skyjack didn't have G2 Decepticon symbols, but I can understand from a marketing stand point why they wouldn't (especially when you consider the real-world origins of the G2 Autobot and Decepticon symbols.

2) Guess I'm going to have to start doing some G2 galleries, which I wasn't expecting to do any time soon. Glad I got Pyro a few years ago from the Hartmans when they had their big sell off.

Hah! G2!

It's a shame that they didn't reissue the original G2 mold (I owned it for a while, great figure) but this is a nice repaint. I normally don't go for repaints, but this guy looks great.

Still can't find a reason to attend. No matter how hard I try.

I dislike G2, I love Botcon toys. My head may explode. I'm really hoping that these guys fit the new fiction somewhere. At least then I'd be much more interested in what I was getting. I don't hate it, I'm just not tickled about it.

(These will be appropriately and insanely colored, so get over it now folks. Not every repaint gets to be black with black details done up on plastic that's blacker than the blackest black.)

Heh. I remember. Here's a theory: I think at least some, if not the majority of you who love this figure are people who grew up with G2 and have fond memories and sentimentality towards it. Where me, I was well into my teens when these came out and I can remember looking at them and thinking how ridiculous looking and inferior they were compared to my own G1 collection. I don't want all-black repaints, but I want my cars, trucks and planes to look like cars, trucks and planes, and I think that's the popular consensus here, why so many people dislike it. To my eyes this thing is like... Care Bear pimp trippin' on crack. To me it's from a dark era in Transformers where things didn't make much sense and it's weird to see it return, even for a short time.

I suppose it had to happen eventually, but this is the first Botcon I'm attending, so I'm bummed to be stuck with figures from my least favorite era of Transformers.

I was afraid of this. That has got to be the ugliest thing the club has ever produced. I still wish I was going to botcon for the con itself. Sure to be fun, but if I were getting that set (and I own them all so far) it would be to resell to people with that kind of taste. Imma be real here. IN MY OPINION, G2 was an ugly series and although truly reminiscent of G2, that....firetruck.....thing is worthless to me.

Found this link to this guy's little gallery on the web. Mind you these are all fan art, but DAMN. Some of the G2 ones are really good representations of the figures I grew up with in the 90s. Yes, they're a bit tacky, even garish. But so were the 90s. You've gotta appreciate them for what they were. I can only hope the botcon figures are even half as good as some of these.

Hahaha, wow. Inferno's a drag queen! Well, I'm not much of a G2 fan, but this is cool for anyone who is. I do get a slight tinge of nostalgia seeing that G2 Autobot symbol again though.

hopefully this Pyro wont suffer from the same brittle gold flake plastic as the original.

my g2 pyro's waist mechanism turned to dust on my first time transforming him (bought him MIB). Found out later that it was as common as transmetal Megs breaking at the waist.
