If you're looking for them, the old Story Idea and Brainstorm threads are in the Archives.

And the Hate Plague would alter the game dynamic a bit too much, when we're doing pretty fine as it is. A smaller-scale storyline might be a better place to start.

So let's start brainstorming. What can we do with the Insecticons now that more and more players are getting interested in them? They're not going to be conquering South America again are they?
And what of the plan for a Seeker vs. Sweep showdown? Are we still onboard for that or have plans been halted?

I was playing with that plotline in Polyhex, but the stupid commanders got in the way. Who decided this silly war was more important than 2 groups of cocky jerks having a discreete punchup?
The main issue with that plotline is that currently, pretty much all the sweeps are deployed to Kaon, while the Seekers are almost all in Polyhex. From a military point of view, it's probably for the best, but...

But we need a reason why Megatron wouldn't just scrap both sides for their infighting.

If it happened at Kaon, then the 2 sides have plenty of places to fight discreetely, but if it turns aerial then everyone would see. Similarly in Polyhex, Shockwave would be even harder on people being insubordinate. The new base in Tagan would probably be the best for it given the commanders and the work keeping everyone busy, but neither side is there. Only a full Autobot attack would be likely to bring them there.

G1 already has a few things like that, including the Triple-Changers, and the Duocons. There are two Duocons, Battletrap and Flywheels, both Decepticons. Battletrap is being played at the minute, but Flywheels is free. As for Triple-Changers, Astrotrain (one of the more Fuse-y), Octane, and potentially Sandstorm are still available.
Of course, since this is Cybertron, all kinds of alt modes are possible, and they can look like all kinds of mashups of earth vehicles. They just wouldn't be a special type: Their alt mode just happen to look like multiple things from an Earth perspective.
The BW Fuzors happened because that series used specially recognisable alt-modes: a pre-earth Cybertron just won't do the same thing.

I think it's planned though with an RPG mod leading the way.
Not only does it cause problems for the Sweeps, but it does cause some friction in the Insecticons.
Dissention, infighting.
Every group has their "StarScream" looking to take the lead.
Sweeps, Seekers, Insecticons, Decepticons in general.
I think it'll be interesting to see how Venom handles things as the leader.
