OH! I get it, so it's only a "real" game if it's on Xbox?
Good for you, you're opinion is no longer valid. (Actually, Bioshock was on the 360)
EDIT: ANd just so you know, I never did online with consoles. I never trust a service that makes me pay $15/month for a game I already paid for.
Oddly enough, Wii has online for free.
Sonray wrote:Shadowman wrote:Sonray wrote:Shadowman wrote:You're right, Halo is bland enough as it is, why give it any sort of innovation?
Obviously you've never played the game. I like how people can still try to rip on Halo despite its runaway success. $300 million in the first week for Halo 3, 360 sales jumped upwards after its release because of people buying the system JUST for that game, yet people with no taste still try to say its "crap" or "not innovative". I tell you what aint innovative, the Wii. lol: http://competition.futurenet.com/t3awards/?result=19
Oh, I did. I played the first two, and, honestly, the third one doesn't interest me. At all. Halo 1 and 2 were just the same **** over and over. And over. And over. And Halo 3 REALLY doesn't look too much different.
Now,if they could add something totally kick-ass-awesome, like the Gravity Gun or the Portal Gun, or even puzzle solving elements like in Half-Life 2 or Metroid Prime (Something to work the brain, other than,"How do I get past this? oh, right, shoot him"), hell, even a REAL Boss Battle. Those closest Halo came was Regret, and he was too much of a pushover.
So you rather have a poor game that relies on over-complicated gimmicks that just copy the breakthrough enviroment manipulation elements of Half Life 2 from 3 years ago then have a good old fashioned but epic series of games like Halo that take gaming back to its simplest and best roots whilst breaking new ground both in sales and in technical terms?
Cool...you should be just happy in the background with the "girls console" in that case.
Oh and FYI, Halo isnt at all easy, 'specially once the flood turn up or you have to battle a scarab in Halo 3, or go mano-e-mano with a brute wielding a gravity hammer on legendary mode.
If you want tactics, go play Gears Of War...oh wait...the Wii cant run that game can it? I guess you will have to stick with the 100th Mario game then.

The 360 is a joke. Other than Halo 3 and Gears of War, all you have is a bunch of PC ports, that play like ass in comparison to the PC versions, and of course on the PC versions you can get on-line for free. whats that, oh yeah Gears of War comes out for PC this christmas. Guess the only real reason to even buy a 360 is Halo 3, but you can get Halo: combat evolved for PC or original X-box, and it owns Halo 3 anyway.
There is no reason to really own an Xbox. My primary reason for fixing mine is to get the HD DVD drive so I can have an HD DVD player. I'm sure after I get it up and running it'll be a new stylish DVD player for my living pretty quick, as there really are NO games what-so-ever on it that I can't get a better version of for the PC
The campaign sucks. The ending's crap. I haven't bothered to play the multiplayer online yet

Dual wielding for instance, would be kind of hard to properly control, or implement with the Nunchuck.

I wont get into a pissing match with our favorite fanboy but I'd like to challenge Hugo on this Point I think Duel Wielding could work on the Wii or maybe with two controllers the one thing that pisses me off with Halo and other Duel wielding games is that you can hold two weapons but only Aim one General Target I think that could change on Wii
EDIT: And My Opinion on Halo 3 and you can take this for what its worth I am a Halo hater I Hated 1 and 2 and I cant see why people think THOSE games are revolutionary or even capable FPS but with that said Halo 3 is a great game Even the Campaign mode is better the story has its flawed and Master Chief is far from a deep character. but its head and Shoulders above 1 and 2. the Multiplayer is also very good. with fairer matchmaking and bells and whistles that will change the way online gaming will be done on console gaming.

I feel the same way. The only Nintendo products i have owned in my entire life was a gameboy, which only replaced my broken Game Gear (which i preffered over the gameboy) and a few years back i bought two used GBA's specifically for a long road trip when i lived in the US. I didnt intend to use them anymore after that and i never did. I sold them soon after i got my PSP.
I just dont know what all the fuss is about over Nintendo. They really dont ever do anything that appeals to me and it isnt just because they make mostly kids games because even when i was a kid i didnt like their **** much either.
I simply never have and wont ever like Nintendo just as i wont ever like most vegetables.

No adult games, huh? I beg to differ.

What was that? A handful of semi-adult games in a never ending sea of kids games? Doesnt redeem or even count for that matter.
(oh and Zelda isnt adult, nor is f-zero)

Yep. But, to be honest, you can't deny that the three games I mentioned are similar to other things:
Dead Rising: A Zombie-infested mall, like Dawn of the Dead.
Gears of War: Space marines fighting large alien monsters, using advanced guns and chainsaw-weapons, like WarHammer 40K.
Halo: So many here, the human race (Terrans/Humans) fights against a parasitic hive-mind (Zerg/Flood), and a super-religious, super-advanced alien race, whom they develop an uneasy alliance with (Protoss/Covenant), while a large part of the story revolves around an even more mysterious, ancient alien race. (Xel'Naga/Forerunners)
Moreover, the basic units for those races all have analogues in both games, Marines (Pretty much the same in both games), long-headed, armored aliens, with beam blades (Zealots/Elites), and tiny, super-fast parasitic aliens (Zerglings/Flood Spores) guarded by larger, tougher beings. (Hydralisk/Flood Combat form)
EDIT: Then again, you can use the same method for Stargate: Zerg/Goa'uld/Flood, Protoss/Asgard/Covenant, Terran/Human/Tau'ri.

Let's revisit these posts:
ALL of them were on either the Xbox or 360, with the exception of Goldeneye.
