I saw a lot of DOTM toys at Walmart and other places like Target. Should I expect deals to come when the new movie hits the screen or just buy now?

Thats your call. Occasionally Toys "R" us will run a deal like they had buy one, get another 50% off.

I'd say perhaps buy Shockwave now. I don't see him being a shelf warmer honestly. But most of the others will probably be there for a bit.

I'll be getting most of the figures I want when I see them (assuming I have the money), but I'm planning to wait until Sentinel Prime goes on sale, since I want him, but not badly enough to pay $45 for him.

Get the shortpacked stuff, get what else you can afford thats decent and let the rubbish go on clearance.

Depends.... like in ROTF there will be (better) incarnations of they toys towards the end of the year. They are already doing that for the wreckers... but if you want the deluxe versions, get em now. chances are hasbro would release a deluxe leadfoot and roadbuster and topspin would be snapped up the day the movie opens.

same thing apply to the rest, if you like a popular charater, buy it now. although im holding off megatron for a leader/ takara chonicles

This is also true.... as I kick myself for buying yellow rampage and some others. Yeah, the wreckers and probably soundwave (when he comes out) I'd add to that list of ones to grab sooner then later.

1) There's always sales
2) BBTS is generally overstocked with many Movie-verse Deluxes
3) Better versions of the figures are released as time goes on.

Number 3 on blurrz list is why I always wait.
We get repaints and retools and sometimes they come in 2-packs or 3-packs.
I can't imagine any of the main characters from DOTM being hard to get anyway.
An off screen character, yea grab it of course.
For me though, it's almost like those people with iphones, you buy it and a new version comes out a few months later.

If you can find what you're looking for at Target and it's a leader or voyager, go ahead and get it now as they're on sale. Then use one of these coupons on top of it ($10 off leader, $3 off voyagers):

Then use your Red Card for another 5% off. I got a leader yesterday for $28.49. Shy of used or clearance, I don't think you're going to do much better than that. And voyagers are $15 - 5% off with your Red Card...

wait and see how hard it is to get them later. i made that mistake with HFTD leader SS. buy them now ASAP. any bit of money i get goes toward DOTM or getting warpath.

If you're still looking, he should be available at the discount stores like Marshalls or TJ Maxx and the like now or very soon...for like $25.

All depends on the individual figure on when to buy. But there are always in-store sales to look out for, like Target this week, so sometimes it is wise to wait for figures. If it takes you days to weeks to finally catch a glimpse of a certain one, I'd buy it on the spot.

Yeah, there are 3 of them at my TRU for $25.

As for holding out, I don't advise it. I spotted a Leader Ironhide today at TRU and it was the only one I have seen in my town, no other store had any of him, so I bought him. He's glaring at me as we speak, threatening me with his Bowie knife. This figure is pure WIN.
