Welcome to the page for my legends class repaints! This includes customs from the legends class lines of the live action films, primarily the Dark of the Moon Cyberverse line. While not as large as my usual Studio Series customs, there's a lot of detail to pick out on these figures!

1. Bumblebee (DOTM Cyberverse)

DOTM Cyberverse Bumblebee is probably my favorite Legends class figure of all time. The accuracy was a huge step up from prior legends Bees, and he has his plasma cannon molded in! Over time, however, my Bee that I got on the first day that DOTM figures were available was showing signs of wear after more than 10 years, particularly with the Autobot logo on the hood and the windshield. I decided to take the opportunity to fix it! I removed the remnants of the bot logo and the inaccurate black section of the bumper with IPA, and redetailed the figure in both modes! Particularly happy with how the back of alt mode looks with the taillights, exhaust pipes, and chevy logo.

2: Ironhide (DOTM Cyberverse)

Ironhide was a pretty easy one to work on, most of my work was already laid out by my prior paint on the Studio Series voyager. I added a gunmetal base with silver and gold details, as well as painting the cannons silver with a wash on top to bring out the details. In alt mode I had a lot of fun picking out all the little lights!

3: Sideswipe (DOTM Cyberverse)

For Sideswipe the first step was to, of course, give him a shiny silver base coat! After that I was able to add detailing like the windows, spoiler, taillights and stripe for alt mode and gunmetal in robot mode!

4: Hot Rod (TLK)

For Hot Rod I was able to use the same gunmetal base as my Studio Series custom, but decided to modifythe shade of orange used to be a bit more red, a result I'm pretty happy with!
While the alt mode is not licensed, I painted it to resemble the screen-used Lamborghini Centenario as much as I could, including small lambo logos and the orange details throughout.

5: Crosshairs (TLK)

Crosshairs was the first test of this really cool looking metallic green spray paint I found. I was considering using it for the Studio Series version (if they did an AOE retool), and while it is a very nice metallic paint, I feel like the green is just a bit too dark for Crosshairs. I think it still looks really cool on this legends class figure, though!

6. Starscream (DOTM Cyberverse)
This isn't the first time I've worked on a ROTF/DOTM Starscream, but it was my first time painting one at this scale! It was a little tricky to fit all the tattoos on the smaller area, but I'm happy with how it turned out!

7. Orbital Assault Carrier/Decepticon Fighter (DOTM Cyberverse)

After doing Starscream, I had to try working on his included vehicle! In the movies these ships are a dark gunmetal base, so I used the testor's spray gunmetal that I also used for Hot Rod and Lockdown. After that, I did some silver dry brushing for weathering and added silver and copper detailing based on what I could tell from screenshots. I also used some of the testor's enamel dark gunmetal for some added detail

For the other modes, I had more freedom to experiment with some gloss red and more copper!

8. Optimus Prime (DOTM Cyberverse)

Concluding this first wave of legends class customs is DOTM Cyberverse Optimus Prime!

In terms of paint, this was a total repaint much in the same vein as my Studio Series DOTM Prime: I traced over the flames on the front with new blue paint and freehanded all the other flames. I did also add the orange fade by mixing red and orange for a more subtle color shift. The fade does come across a little more subtle in these pictures than in person. The fade was added not just for alt mode, but also for the arms and feet wheel wells in robot mode!


Now, let's talk about Prime's arsenal of weapons! We have the battle steel Optimus Prime weapons (minus one sword, I got mine secondhand and it was missing one), which I painted up and then drilled a 3mm port in the right arm to accomodate the sword. We also have a shield from SS-44 DOTM Prime, which actually scales nicely with this figure! I had to add a handle so Prime could hold it, which I used a piece of model sprue for. Finally is Prime's flight tech, which I accomplished using 3D printed add-ons for both the weapons and wing extensions! These were designed by HEROIC_AUTOBOT on Cults3D, and these are some of the best 3D printed parts I've worked with yet. The weapons fit right in Prime's hands without any modding!

9. Optimus Prime (Energon Igniters)

Despite being released in the BB toyline, this figure is modeled after AOE's Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, making it our only legends class figure made for that movie! I went for a screen accurate look with the weathered tan alt mode, with faded red and blue that appears in robot mode. I did some modding as well by carving the hole in the grill we see on screen!

10. Bumblebee (1977 Camaro, Energon Igniters)

This Bee figure has some excellent sculpting which was fun to paint! I also did the full weathering setup by adding rust and wear detailing, as well as fading to the stripes with gray paint. I also threw in a Plasma Cannon from the Studio Series core Bumblebee mold for the pictures since he can also use it!
