Can someone tell me how to properly remove and replace pins?
I did a search and couldn't find anything on it so i figured i'd ask. There are plenty of times it is necessary to remove the pins to disassemble the figure for proper paint. Can someone tell me how to remove and then reinstall the pins without causing damage? Thanks in advance.

Truth be told, I've had so much trouble trying to tap pins out, I've started cuting off a couple millimeters of the plastic at the end (usually I guess right which end is knurled, sometimes I end up cutting both sides), grabbing the knurled end of the pin with a pair of forceps, and yanking it out. Then it's just a matter of tapping the pin back in and gluing the piece I cut off back on, though epoxy putty is useful in rebuilding the area too. (Mighty Putty is a fricken' Godsend, I don't know how I worked without it!)

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that. I have been using a putty for stuff on certain customs but it's basically an automotive filler similar to bondo. not real easy to work with. Where can i find that Mighty Putty you mentioned? Do retailers (Hobby Lobby etc.) carry it or is it an online only thing?

I hammer my pins vertically out, with a thin metal nail. You'll have to find out which end the pin can go out. This is generally figured out by slightly nailing the pin at one end to see if it's giving out or not. If it's not giving out, hammer the other side.
I generally nail the pin out into a thick piece of wood. But if possible, avoid removing pins. It's a hassle, and if your aim with the hammer isn't very good, then game over sauce fingers. Only do it if it's necessary, i.e. Animated Arcee's cockpit.

Oh, you can get MP pretty much anywhere: Target, WalMart, Walgreens. etc. It's basically just two-part epoxy putty, but Billy Mays was hawking it, back in the day.
