HybridHero wrote:Hey guys, going to Toronto this weekend (going to see Evil Dead: The Musical), and I'll be staying downtown by UofT. Just wondering what comic book shops downtown would be good to check out for toys? I plan on checking out Grey Region and 1000000 Comix already, but if there are any other good ones that have either old/used toys or imports (looking for MP Megatron now that I have some cash) that is relatively close to the school, that'd be great. Thanks!
Silver Snail. Straight up awesome.

LOL, I dunno, maybe I've seen you in the store. You don't work there or anything do you? Or are you a member on their forum?
The Dark Knight wrote:Thanks Editor and kirbenvost for some info. I've bought from them in the past and they're great. I'll just hope they get to my order soon or at least get an update from them soon.
No problem! Yeah they are reliable for sure, I just usually allow more time when it comes to receiving the orders. Since I can visit the store in person I can get updates so I don't worry usually, but sometimes I've gotten kind of impatient. But yeah, they always pull through, so it's all good.

They have some good stuff most of the time too
If anyone in the area is looking for Henkei around my area (mississauga) then the clostest place to find some are Toy Square near the Pacific mall. Usually have good prices.

You know it. My hobbys are as follows:
A great butt
A nice rack
Transformers
Pottery
They have three of those four things.

Anyways, the results of the first store I went to, Toys'R'Us, I saw Salvage & Stealth Bumblebee, & also Air Raid, & also, I saw 2 shelves full of Animated Lockdown & Prowl. I did find Wave 1 of the Animated Voyagers though, only a few of Cybertron Megatron & Bulkhead were there, couldn't find Starscream there. So I went ahead, & bought Movie Incinerator.
Anyways, second store, Zellers, I found constant shelves full of Wave 1 of the Animated Deluxes. & only found Bulkhead in Animated Voyagers, also, again I have spotted the Allspark deluxes Jazz, Brawl, & Barricade.
Onto the third store, Wal-Mart, first few shelves I went down were the regular action figure aisle, & only found more shelves of Animated Wave 1 deluxes. However, I turn around & check other aisles, & there on a different aisle still in the toy aisle were more of the Animated Wave 1 deluxes, but also all 3 of the Animated Wave 1 Voyagers! After a search through 3 stores, I was finally able to buy Animated Starscream
Also, on a side note, I'm not planning to buy Animated Voyager Bulkhead anytime soon, because I am waiting for the Animated Leader Bulkhead, & not to mention, when the Voyager Earth Optimus Prime comes out, as I am constantly being told, Voyager Bulkhead would be too small & would end up being dwarfed by Earth Optimus Prime.

I was quite surprised to see that all of the Wave 1 Animated Deluxes and Voyagers were availible at Wal-mart a week and a half ago in Saint John N.B.
We didn't even get the Soundwave G1 reissue til a year after it was released(and we didn't get Classics Devastator at all).
So yay.
Will be looking for Grimlock tomorrow...

None of us in Canada got Devastator, it was only available in the state.
As for Grimlock you may want to hold out on the frantic search. He and Lugnut haven't been released stateside. On top of that, Voyager Prime is in wave 1.5 so we will see him before we see Grimlock.
EDIT: Okay so I stand corrected. Grimlock and Lugnut are out in the states. I knew I'd eat my words when I wrote that.

I take it you missed it when I said that there were two of them at A3AU two weeks ago...or was it last week? Bah, I can't remember.
Anyways, I went down there yesterday to pick up my photo from the Star Wars charity thing, and they didn't have anything new, aside from having Universe Storm Cloud, which surprised me, because they had Powerglide the week before. Isn't it a bit early to be engaging in repaint mode?*
* = Yeah, I know that the Voyagers (Blaster, Heavyload and Dropshot) are repaints, but they're not repaints of figures already in the line. I know Sideswipe is incoming, too, but at least he's a retool. Partially.

Anyone else ever have an experience like that?
Also tomorrow I'm gonna give the toy manager a call to see if/when they'll have their exclusives.

Wave 2 Universe have Acid Storms ugly mug on the card fronts.
The reason I say they will be out at retail soon is that SS gets there shipments from the same place the big three get theirs.
So I would say most likely with in the week, let alone 24 hours we'll see some of that on the shelves.

Great news. Just need Swoop from these releases to complete my Dinobot army! My completist days are over.
Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

I'll be there selling this year. I'll have my PS2 Transformers game for people to play and buy.
I'm hoping someone there will be selling Tit. Grimlock & Prowl or Henkei Sunstreak & Prowl.

Deep Space Starscream.
Loads of them.
Two shelves full.
And some others on top of the shelf.
Oh, and some Premium Movie Leaders, Animated Wave 3, two Powerglides and Two Onslaughts. But considering I was steamed up over finding DSS, I kinda didn't pay too much attention to that.
The only thing that kept me from having a meltdown right there in the store was the fact that I get paid tomorrow, and have plenty of time to stop by and pick one up before I go to work.
