And plus you have these shopping malls which depended on a Target to attract a crowd. I have no clue how they will resolve that and who will take over all that space.

And I had not thought of that price match, that is a real bummer. However, I must admit that I usually made Target match their price with Walmart instead of the other way around.

I expect we'll all be hearing people asking for Zellers, Woolco, and our other lost chains to return but that likely just won't happen. Even if HBC revised Zellers, I doubt they would buy back more that a dozen or so leases. Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire and maybe Home Depot/Lowes may look at some, but I expect a number of malls are looking at breaking the footprints down for smaller shops.

I know that the TRU near me is possibly going to need a new location as the land is speculated to become an office tower soon, so they could take a chunk of the Target floorplan much in the same way the Sears that was there is now split between a Future Shop/Winners/T&T/Shoppers and a Medical clinic. But honestly who knows.

Looking at comments online from a lot of people, I guess I'm a minority, as the Target was a vast improvement over the Zellers it took over. The staff were decent and most shelves weren't as bare as other places people are complaining about. Was the Toy department smaller with less stuff than Zellers? Absolutely, but at least 50% wasn't "stocked" with years of dead product no one wanted. Just how much Avatar Movie crap did the bring in?

Well Target, thanks for what you did provide. Death's Head, about a dozen TF's, a few Lego sets, a bunch of Disney Infinity figures on sale, cheap deals on a bunch of food (never bothered with Zellers for food) a couple belts, a ton of discounted Christmas stuff last year, and mostly the convenience of being spiting distance away. Back to the half-hour trek to Walmart & Superstore.

There's an idea, Loblaws should look at grabbing a couple to be the reverse of one of their superstores, 20-30% food, 70%-80% everything else they sell. Toy prices would still likely be crap, but at least they have the potential capital to give it a whirl.

Aw, come on, that's total bullshit! It's not only the TF exclusives that were good and available at Target. It was the MLP exclusives too! Also, when they put toys on clearance, they were on clearance for REAL! I just bought the MLP Equestria Girls stage, normally sold for 40-50$ at only 15$!

Shiiiiiiit.... Centre Laval will take quite a hit because they renovated the ENTIRE shopping mall just for Target. Sigh... One less convenient store to go, less competition, more exclusive to miss and pay a premium for on Ebay.

As you know, i am juat as devistated as you. I have no clue how centre laval will deal with this. The only thing i could think of was lablaws. But this really sucks!

Combiner war toys were spotted in ottawa. Man, I hope we do get Arcee and Brainstorm. Has this kind of overlap happened in Canada before? I havent been collecting that long.

sometimes. i personally never saw the ruination retool anywehere even once. they were either really scarce here, or never showed at all.
as for CW hitting canada:

Let's just hope our retailers have actually ordered all waves so we don't end up missing anything.

Hasbro was VERY HELPFUL in telling me what to expect in terms of generations figures in canada:

Regrettably, I cannot guarantee product availability. My suggestion is to keep checking major retailers in your area.

Ok, so Combiner Wars and RID have hit Quebec and on the same day and on sale at 25% off due to lucky timing. BUT the prices for the RID 2005 line are RIDICULOUS. The warrior figures are on "sale" at 15$. I thought it was the regular price, but no, its a sale. The regular price for an RID Deluxe (warrior ) class figure is 19.99. At that price, getting the takara version is actually cheaper and that is what I will do for some, especially the ones with better deco.

I didnt get anything because they were all sold out but I got rainchecks for 90 days. Now I am just waiting to see how much aimami sells superion before I settle on which version of Superion I am getting.

The TRU on decarie blvd in montreal now has all the RID figures and Combiner Wars figures from the first wave. They had them before but were sold out instantly, good to know they were able to restock in just one week. I only got powerglide because with the price being raised by a dollar this year, and the yen so low, I am better off waiting for the takara version of superion and the RID line products since the warrior deluxes are still priced at 19.99 which is nuts (the Grimlock pictured is cheaper because its been rebubbled sloppily).

good news! we're not far behind the Mericans on combiner wars it seems!

However, whith those prices that keep going up and up, we will pricematch Europe sooner than we'll like.

Still no sign of arcee or brainstorm though, although i hear that wave hasnt shown up in certain states either.

At the price deluxes are right now, it's almost worth it to give in to BBTS.

The shipping and exchange is a deal breaker for me. I am much better off just waiting for the legends version. Preordering them on a japanese site that uses yen would be the same price as buying the hasbro version from BBTS.

Just checked out Walmart to see what generations figures they had available. They usually have listings for upcoming figures. That's how I knew we'd eventually get armada starscream since he was up there months before we eventually got him.

They also had Arcee and Chromia (but not Barinstorm) so the hope wa there. But they just took the listings down!
