Also, judging from that comparison shot with Tyrantron - who we know to be the same size as Kultur - we can extrapolate that Calidus is about the same size as Thrilling 30 Springer. Not quite sure how I feel about that myself but it can work.

That'll be sorted soon though..

Mostly I thought Springer because he's the first comparison I could find with Kultur (who I searched up comparisons for after I found he was the same height as Tyrantron). I didn't post it because it was on TFW2005, shhhh
Someone should totally do a comparison between Calidus and Cloud Rodimus when the former comes out

Well, Cary steered me into these dark waters, and I saw this and i really really really want it. I was deciding to pass on Megs due to the crappy alt mode, but this Rodimus is perfect. I love it so much. I'm going to need to get him, just gonna need to.

I'm also in the boat of "Wow this thing looks amazing" but I do have two slight quibbles. The size is kind of big to scale with Hasbro's lost lighters and it seems like the head sits kind of far back but I can easily overlook these. But if SXS's Hot Flame is about deluxe and good I'll go with that one but that one doesn't seem to be very close to preorder time or production time. Either way I'm going to have to make budget cuts to get one of them, Kultur, and maybe Tyrantron.
I'm still interested; once I have the budget for it, I'm definitely getting this version (it ultimately came down to the look of the vehicle mode between this and the SXS version). He's taller than I expected, but it's not a deal-breaker.

Calidus doesn't look bad but I think I'm going to hold out for the SXS version. Cal's head gets lost in his shoulders and his chest is too flat. Hot Flame may have a worse alt-mode but the robot mode is what matters and it's perfect, if maybe a little skinny.
It's really odd for me. I am a total TFTM fanboy, and by extension Hotrod fanboy. But for this (and their Cyclonus) I find myself.... really meh about them. And I don't think it has anything to do with them being IDW designs, cause I dig'em. They just kinda feel... prototype'y? Like they lack a bit of finishing touches like paint apps.
Y'know what it is? They look like they were built from model kits. Lots of varying different colors of plastic, but unless you painted in the details yourself they're devoid of it. That's how they feel to me. *shrug*
