Fresh off the postal truck.

Initial impression: I've only opened Bee. He feels A LOT more stable and solid than the TLK wave 3 Bee. Doesn't feel as cheap either.

Boxes are very nice.

Stinger looks much less impressive in hand.

Do a written review! We can news it; and I am really interested in both of these, I'd love to hear your opinion on them, I'm skeptical of stingers body, and still not a fan of bee's head, but, dam his car mode is sublime 8-)

These guys are really quite excellent. Given Hasbro's recent track record, I'm surprised at how good these are. Highly recommended.

So here are my thoughts on the first two voyager class studio series figures, Starscream and Optimus Prime. Hope you enjoy!

First off, we will take a look at the packaging.

It is really quite sturdy, as well as good looking. By just holding the boxes, you can tell this line was made for collectors first, and not children. A nice and welcome change from the norm.

Then you get inside the boxes, and find not only the figure, but a nice little diorama display stand. The artwork on it depicts a seen from the movies that the figure appeared in. Starscream's is from the city battle at the end of the first movie. Prime's is from the forest fight towards the beginning of the second movie. Sure, many will find them a bit cheesy, and I myself will not use them for display, but it's still a really nice touch, and I like it.

Starscream is a hair large for his though.

Let's look at the Robot modes.

As you can see, Starscream is great. You can't tell in a picture, but this guy is super solid in n hand. All his joints are tight so he can hold a pose and stand just fine on his own. The same holds true for Prime, though he could use quite a bit more paint apps. The black hinge in the middle of his chest is honestly not as bad in hand as it looks in pictures. I also find his arms to front of semi transformation worth it.

They also have nice weapons storage on thier backs. Always a plus.

Here are a couple of comparison shots with previous versions.

In vehicle mode Starscream is, once again, the clear stand out. His design actually manages to hide his parts rather nicely for a jet mode transformer.

The underside is still a tad ugly, bit much better than the standard "legs pushed up and arms held at sides" take.

Prime turns out to be a fairly clean semi, but once again he needs more paint apps. For god's sake, Hasbro, paint the goddamm rims.

The weapons have storage points in alt mode as well.

Honestly, this whole line has knocked it out of the park for me. This is the first line of non masterpiece style figures I've been truly xcited about in several years, and I'm not even that huge of a movie fan.

So I have today off for the Easter holiday. However, I completely forgot to turn my alarm off. So promptly at 5:30 a.m., I get woken up. I go to the bathroom, take a morning constitutional, then go out to make some coffee. Well s***, we're out of coffee. So I get dressed, hop in the car, and drive to Meijer to get some coffee. While there I remembered to look for something.

Yeah, about that Blu-ray........ I kinda wish I hadn't bought it.

I saw Last Jedi once in the theatre, and thought I liked it. That was just the life long Star Wars love talking. Watched it again at home and realized......Holy ****, this was a really bad movie.

Blackout is awesome though.

I wouldn't say it's "bad".... because the prequels were bad. Last Jedi isn't that. But the director made some really odd choices, and I probably disagreed with all of them.

Until TLJ, I'm not sure I realized how much I idolized the Luke Skywalker character. And I feel that they simply destroyed him. He was a coward, and he was anything but in the origtrig. The Luke who saw the sliver of good in his father, would not have hesitated and thought of murdering his nephew as he slept even if he had just freshly turned to the dark side. He was willing to die for Anakin's salvation, and he had been fully consumed for a lifetime. Had he been written correctly, he simply would not have chosen the path he did in TLJ. Also, the fight at the end, while neat, he shoulda PHYSICALLY been there. It felt like the biggest dick tease ever. I could have forgiven everything the movie did wrong, had him and Kylo faced off foreals.

Also, Space Reno was $#@!. It completely ruined the flow of the movie, and felt alot like a prequel thing. :SICK:

I actually have a lot more to complain about, but y'know. Those are my biggest points.

HA HA! That Meme is great!

I too have mixed feelings about TLJ. When I peer around my "Fan for life" goggles, I see a really badly written story, with terrible pacing.
But there are moments I find interesting and/or entertaining. Never been a HUGE JJ Abrams fan, but am glad he is taking over control of the next one. At least he knows how to tell a decent story, and gets the Lucas/Spielberg style of pacing.

Hopes are high for Solo, but keeping expectation low.

Oh wait. The actual movie.

I've watched it a bunch of times now. I'm still angry that Luke ended up the way he ended up. I don't think that was ever an option for him. He didn't know quit. He knew how to do things wrong, but he wouldn't quit. Except when he quit training with Yoda because Yoda "wanted the impossible". And even in the books that are canon now he didn't seem to ever give up and go away!!

Everything else, I liked. Snoke is alive. Darth Maul would like to have words if you don't think so. OG trilogy Luke Skywalker is still real to me. The whole thing was a force projection misdirection!! He's still alive too!!

Back to the Studio Series, they all look pretty dang nice. I'm glad you are liking them Ironhidensh!! Are you excited for Megatron?!

As a life long Star Wars nerd, who quite literally grew up on the Expanded Universe, I wonder if I'm even able to give the new movies and Disneyverse a fair shot.

Even if I could, that was a terrible Luke. Also, why the hell would the New Republic sit on its ass for over 30 years while the first Order rose to power.

Don't get me started......

This makes me sad let's have a happy picture of my new besties.

So I got the Maketoys version of MP Starscream yesterday. It comes with an alternative head, that has Despotron`s (Maketoys MP Megatron) hand choking him and it can freaking actually attach to Despotron's wrist!!!

Damn, I wish I still had Despy.

That's one of the super cool features of that guy!! It would be neat to have both. What I do find funny is that MakeToys Despotron works well with the Hasbro MP3 based Starscream as they both look like they did in All Hail Megatron.

How do you like Meteor?! Transform him back and forth a few times and report at your earliest convenience please. :-D
