We have been getting a few sightings of these out in the US. These are keychains of G1 Transformers characters. The characters include Megatron, Optimus, Bumblebee and Soundwave and even have that nice checkers G1 card background. They of course cannot transform. The sightings were reported on the Cybertron Cafe Facebook page, here is one post for instance, and the sightings come from Pennsylvania and Maryland, just to give some examples.
These were found at Dollar Tree stores in the US, so the question remains, would you buy that for a dollar?

Soundwave's the one I'd pick.

We happen to have a Dollar Tree just down the street, so easy to quickly check.

I'd have to see them in person to gauge how they scale with the old SCF PVCs.

I still visit Dollar Trees on the off chance they'll get the other metal Street Fighter figures I never found. I bought an extra Chun Li to scale with the TF crossover Arcee repaint that lacked a Titan Master...though I haven't actually gotten around to buying any of those 4 yet, and all of those metal figurines have probably come and gone for good.

Even if I never bite, there is something special about seeing something officially TF next to all those simplified KOs with no other brand name than "ROBOT". Rarely even useful for kitbashes, but the type on the left with the sword, and the smaller "M.A.R.S." parts-swapping toy it was KOed from, were instrumental in giving my Megatronia her boob-job transforming weapons upgrade.

I need a new digital camera pronto...

Damn straight I'd buy that for a dollar. Now just got to make the trip to the Dollar Tree. Funny thing is for the small ass town I live in there is a Dollar General and a Family Dollar within walking distance but the Dollar Tree is 40 min away :lol:

Fans were happy to find those 1$ keychains at Dollar Tree so we figured we could let you know of other products you can get there featuring the 'G1' designs and characters. First off we have the prexio mini figures. Tiny little statues of G1 mainstays like Optimus, Grimlock, Starscream, Bumblebee, Megatron and Soundwave. The packaging is all very G1 and we see the toy artwork on it and on the actual box that holds the little bags. Speaking of the little bags, they are well identified as to who you get. The pictures below come from Dilbertron who posted on the TFW2005 message baords.
We also have another set of G1 main characters in the form of wall climber toys. You can see the type of toy it is in the video below and these have been stylized as G1 characters. Fellow Seibertronian EvasionModeBumblebee reported buying these and gave us some images below along with this quote:

Not even Megs is sure what to think about it.

The paint apps on those keychains were horrendous, which is to be expected for $1. I wonder how the quality of the blind bag figures are.

YES!!! I've been picking up the sticky wall ninjas at Dollar Tree for a few years now(they're cheap fun). Now I'm going to have to hunt these down...especially Hot Rod :DANCE:
