Celebrate Seibertron.com's 9th Anniversary

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Wow, that's an awesome landmark, Seibs. I think I've been here actively since 2004, judging by the screens (which are really cool by the way, it's great to see the evolution).

I credit your site as being one of, if not THE major factor in getting me back into Transformers after a long hiatus. My old ones were abandoned to the bottom of the toybox when I was 12 or so. Some time after RiD came out (but I had just discovered its existence, cars again, yay!) I was searching for pics in my school computer lab (ah, dialup, those were the days), and I'm fairly sure I came across Seibertron.com.

Later on when Alternators & 20th Prime came out I finally got the kick to actively start collecting again, I joined up, and the rest is history (around 200 TFs and counting!). Your galleries are always the major deciding factor in my purchases, plus you've got so many other great resources here, and I think we're one of the best communities.

There are other TF sites I check from time to time, but this is and always will be my TF home on the net. Now I just need to make it to Botcon one of these years and truly become part of the hardcore community.

BTW, I must've missed the memo about you being engaged and a dad. ;) Congrats, that's so awesome!

Edit: Oh, haha I remember Before Carly. It was rather naughty. I believe Seibs' decided to retire it to make this a fully family-friendly site.

That's one I've missed, as well. I bet it's got something to do with no more Before Carly... Seriously, though, congratulations!

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

A buddy of mine turned me on to this site back on 06. I was just starting to get back into collecting after fire took my house and my prizsed bot collection. Seibertron.com was like a breath of fresh air. It gave me news, facts and had members who knew what they were talking about and were also willing to help anyone who had a question. This site made being a Transformer fan sooooooooo mcuh easier!

Just want to say say Thank your for this wonderful Site and keep up the Amazing work! :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE:

Happy birthday Seibertron!

Even though my registration date does not show it, but I remember one of my first posts on the forums was talking about how Fox Kids screwed up the order of the 2nd season of Beast Machines in the beginning. I kinda ranted about how the 1st episode of season 2 was showed one Saturday morning and the next they showed the 2nd episode of season 1. I was afraid that the 2nd episode of Season 2 would be skipped entirely in the run. But alas things were fine in the following weeks as all episodes of season 2 were shown in correct order. I also remember when I first started posting regularly was everyone commenting on how cool my screen name was. (Jedi Kermit, how much cooler can you get? :P ) Even though I'm not active on the site nowadays, I do visit it multiple times a day. I do remember all the stuff that went on good and bad.(Mostly good :D ) These past 9 years I have had the opportunity to be involved with the Vector Sigma Database (check out the R.I.D. characters I entered! Also along with a comic cover from Botcon '01) and be apart of the News Crew for a short time. I've even had a few dealings with the owner himself. I remember giving Ryan (Seibertron) a copy of all the RID cartoons shows I recorded from broadcast, sold him my set of the complete Armada series made in China before Rhino released the second set. I am most gratefull for the fact that Ryan took the time and energy to get me all of the Botcon '07 toys that was available for sell. Ryan, I again thank you for your help in getting the toys for me. You really outdid yourself on that one. I hope one day we can help each other out again.

All in all this is my favorite Transformers website and on I visit first every time. Keep up the class work Ryan. :D

Wow, seeing all the old homescreens is such a memory jogger. How long did I lurk before I joined? Man, now I see it was a LOOOOOONNNNGGGGG time.

So many good memories here, so many good friends, people I trust more than some of those that I see everyday, I tell you. The best part of here is its not just a website, its like a collective family. There are no outsiders, no n00bs, no losers, no geeks, dorks or nerds, just Seibertronians.

Thanks for the long history and letting me be a piece of this massively great place Ryan.

Congrats on your 9 years. Siebertron helped those of us in the fWo when writing our columns for Inside Pulse and also helped me personally connect with other folks "staring down the barrel of 30" and not feel so geekish about collecting toys, be it TF's Robotech/Macross, Japanese Mecha, or GI Joes. Thanks again.

Congrats on hitting the 9 year mark. Does that mean we get to have a 10th anniversary celebration next year?

I've only been on the site for a touch over two years now, but it's been great. I love that you went so far back in telling the story to even mention TransForum. That little fanzine was one of my first connections with the rest of the fandom. Thanks for all the work you've put into this hobby over the years, man, you deserve an award. Oh, wait, you've won several! ;)

Scratch what I said about being here a touch over two years. I just realised that as of 17 minutes ago, I've been here two years to the day!

Hey while you are at it patting yourself on the back and giving highlights of the 9 years of this board, don't forget, Ryan, the fangirl you asked to join back under the forum's first layout to add some variety to your board cause she was a lowly G1 cartoon fan against all the comic fans. And then you took your place in line and slaughtered her. Wheres that in your highlights from years ago, mmmm?

Surely you remember. I do....and it set my attitude for my fellow fan from that day forward....you remember that UK git, Cliffjumper? Yes, he was you little ringleader. Is this jogging any memories? Surely you remember all this. How could one forget such a happy free for all shredding that ended up spanning onto at least one other board before it was over. Remember all the times you emailed me to come /back/? .... well I finally did, and this board now, is what you are so proud of? At the very least, the lay out of this board is annoying at best, and I'm in a rare nice moment with that comment but if you like, I could tell you what I really think of it. So I wonder, who's your kick around members here now....

congrats on the 9th Anniversary Ryan! Many more to come. I know i joined only a few years ago, but i know i visited the site at least 3 yrs. prior, just looking up info. Sidenote: in 2000, I went to my first botcon - held in Ft. Wayne, IN. Compared to this year's, a LOT has changed. Like i said before, i don't believe Hasbro, nor the TFCC were even involved at that point.
your anniversary gift should arrive by the end of the month (i hope) :D

I was thinking: how would people feel about reviving the Party Forum, but instead of a forum, a Skype chat? I know some smaller sites that have been doing it for a little while and it's pretty fun. Dunno how it would work with one as large as this.

Now that's a great idea. The PM system is very useful, but it would be nice if members who were online at the same time could chat in realtime, be it one-on-one or in groups. Since joining this board, I've been pleased to see that Seibertronians are pretty social/friendly/welcoming, there's a real community here, and it would be great to expand that even further.

I'm trying really hard to ignore that "The Starscream" person, but sometimes I just can't keep my mouth shut. I don't know anything about the events s/he speaks of, but I will say this: Where's your sense of forgiveness? Are you seriously still holding a grudge after 8 or 9 years? Maybe Ryan did do something hurtful to you in the past, but this is the Internet, it isn't the end of the world. Also, I'm sure both he and you were a lot younger 9 years ago and less mature. Maybe you should learn to move on with your life and live in the present. Are you seriously going to let something somebody said about you on the internet 9 years ago affect your life today? I'm sorry, but that's just petty and immature.

Seibertron.Com is not about the past, it has grown and matured over the years, just like people should. This site is about the present and the future of the franchise we love. It's about TransFormers fans coming together and enjoying each other's company and opinions. If two people have opposing opinions, they're welcome to debate them. However, we here at Seibertron consider ourselves above the petty flamewars of other sites. Personal attacks are simply unnecessary and uncalled for. Also, TransFormers are made for children, and as such, this is a family-friendly website. Please keep your animosity to yourself and go back to lurking until you have something positive to contribute to our fandom.

You have no idea what happened here 9 years ago. No idea at all. IF you knew, you /would/ understand why to some that were put through it, it has never been forgotten. You may call it anything you want but unless you were there, and I know you weren't, what are you basing your opinion on? An assumption based on what exactly?

Now what I'm waiting for is for Ryan to have the guts to publicly acknowledge it, be honest and truthful about it and apologize for what he did. What he did changed some fans interaction with this fandom in general forever. You weren't there, don't assume. Until you literally go through it, see it though my eyes, what happened 9 years ago, don't you dare assume anything.

And as for personal attacks? I did no such thing... trust me, I did nothing of the sort....if you only some of you really knew...

I also do not need anyone else but Ryan to answer to my initial post. Your need to jump in did nothing but show more of the obvious.... you figure it out.

I assume it is a chat program like you use on Facebook, or when participating in the online fantasy football/baseball/basketball/or hockey draft.

Simply allows you to read and respond quickly to what someone posts in response to you or another.

One of the problems I can see might be that it is hard to monitor, and keep people from flaming and not getting caught. Mods jobs would be much, much more intense.

Just to clear things up; Skype is like a free internet phone service. Free as long as you're calling Skype to Skype. You can call to or from a home or cell phone, but you would have to set up a payment plan. But for most users it's totally free. You just need a high speed internet connection(everyone should already have that) and a microphone to plug into your PC(less people probably have that). Preferably a headset so you don't get an echo when other people are talking.

Think of it like a IM program, but also with the ability to actually talk to people over the internet at the same time. You can also video chat, but only 1 on 1. I've had up to 20 people in a chat at 1 time with me once. Alot of people who play online games like WoW that don't support chat use it.

From my experiences, a typical chat is a bunch of people just talking about what's going on today. "Oh did you see ROTF? How did you like it?" "I thought it was OK. I didn't like the Twins though. Did you see Michael Jackson died?" "Yeah, liked his music. Him, not so much." etc. Eventually it unravels into delightful insanity with people trying to make each other laugh whether it be by telling a joke or funny story. Or by just posting random slash art. Or maybe that's just the group I run with. Until eventually everyone calls it a night. Almost always a fun time in my experience.

I think if we did have an "Official Seibertron.com Skype Party Chat" thing, we would need some kind of moderator. Someone to be the host/start the chat. Bring people into the chat. Call people back when they get dropped, because Skype does like to drop people for no reason occasionally. And most importantly, to make sure everything is going smoothly. No fighting, keeping the conversation going, etc. And probably want to keep the slash to a minimum if you want the chat to match the family-friendly rating of the site.

So yeah, that's Skype in a nutshell. Dunno if alot of people would be interested.

Ah. Well, I was thinking more like the IM stuff at the bottom of the screen in Facebook or MySpace(Skype).
