Character sketches and in progress images
Yup, they're missle launchers. They're attached to the turret. They can be on either the front or back portion. If on the back they'd flip up and rotate around. If on the front then they'd just have to flip up.
I'll make a small diagram later today.

OK, I understand the explanation but I'll be waiting for that diagram it'd be helpful. By the way I got the figure today, so we are officially a team now Gryph

Man FH Shuriken is already looking official, excellent piece.
Note, can you repost the pic at this topic: http://www.tfmaster.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2033?, it's just to have all the box art stuff togheter in one place

Time for an update
Lockdown's altmode is a mobile artillery piece:

In botmode, tha canon folds open and can be connected on his back :

I still need to work more on the chest/shoulders though, but this will be it for the most part.
Maybe some more guns (
)

heh, well.. I had a problem connecting the gun to both modes, since the connection points are different.
Altmode, the white bars slide into the holes at his flipped crotch

Botmode, yay to Bionicle! again
The yellow mockup represents the bar which clicks into the grey starshaped thingie. You know, the piece which is round on one side and crossed on the next side.

It works

Thanks! The paintscheme.. hmm.. I want to color him suitable for the desert continent so that has to be either a desert camo or just plain brown/red.
I want to do the first, but have no experience in it.. anyone some tips ?

Desert Camo takes 3 colors. a light tan (not white-ish in color), a medium dark tan and a dark tan but not quite brown. Darkest you would want is snakebite leather or something comprable.
Cover the pieces you want camoed in the mid colored tan. Then add bloches of the dark tan ontop of that with a round brush. You can be messy with this on the edges. Ruff edges help to add the image breakup effect. Then add a few smaller blotches of the light tan. Light and dark tan's shouldn't touch.
Also look up a pic of the Gi-joe tomahawk (the helecopter with two sets of propoellers) it had a great camo job. That or a pic of one of the larger articulated figures or a Max steele figure with camo uniform for an example to work from.

Having read through Ra88's script so far I noticed he'd included a flashback scene featuring Shuriken's previous self (back when she was an Autobot medic) so, just for Josh's benefit, I took the trouble to design her (still haven't decided on colours yet though)...

A friend came with a camera yesterday so I took som pics of the WIP Whirlwind, microns and Panzer.
Whirlwind is mostly finished, just needs painting; the same goes for the microns.
Panzer still needs a little more work, I'm trying to figure out how to make the hands, I want to put them in the position of Gryph's sketch but the claws are cool too, so i'm not decided yet on keeping them or not, any thoughts? Gryph? anybody?
By the way, sorry for the pic heavy post

I must admit I'm a fan of big & powered bots, cant go wrong with that![]()
Any thoughts on their paintjob ?
Thanks Pepie, about the paintjobs; Panzer is a joint effort with Gryph, so we'll both have to talk about the colors, personally I'd go with a dark green/brown color scheme, with some dark gold details, sort of like the barrels of his cannon/machine gun. Gryph wanted to make him blue but since Tankor's TV colors were mostly blue I think we should go in a different direction.
Whirlwind's colors are becoming a problem, I want to keep some of the tan areas and add some yellow/gold details, but I also was planning on adding a lot more black to the figure, problem is we already have two almost completely black characters (Shuriken and Landbreaker) and I don't want to add some variety to the characters colors so I'm still not decided.
