It seems much has happened in my absence. What happened to all the old story? I was hoping I might be able to get involved again as my life has calmed back down a bit, making it possible to run a few characters again.

Are things starting anew once more? If so, are there any character needs that I may be able to fulfill, or might I pick up some of my old characters?

Welcome back, Windcharger! Yes, the story has started from scratch, IDW-style. It's basically like the Infiltration comics, set on Earth, but we're doing our own storyline. For example, Ironhide's the commander of the Autobot unit instead of Prowl. People lost interest in the old game so it's been scaled down to a smaller setting. There's a new roster list if you want to see what characters are taken and which are not. We seemed to have lost some players after the recent crash, so any help is welcomed and appreciated.

It's nice to see you back, Windcharger. We could use another good player, so take a look at the roster and app for any of the free characters you like. One thing, we have a limit of three characters per player, and we are not accepting fan mades just yet. We're waiting to see how far the cannons take us before letting players app for their own characters.

Sounds awesome. Should I reapply for Windcharger and Brawn? I believe I still have my original applications for both. And would it be too greedy to ask for Skywarp as well to round out the Seekers?

Whatever you want me to do, I'm cool with it. :grin:

Go ahead and app for both Windcharger and Brawn, however we are waiting on Skywarp's player to post. Real life has taken it's toll on some players, so we're giving them some time to respond with their characters. So Skywarp is off limits for now. But feel free to apply for another Con.

Just as a side note, when you apply for an Autobot there is a requirement to decribe an avatar for the character. Just put it after the abilities section of your application.

Not exactly sure what this means. Could you direct me to an example?

In the IDW comics, each Autobot has what's called a Holomatter avatar, or driver, so it looks like there's someone behind the wheel instead of just an empty car driving around. Avatars are kinda like holograms only they can appear solid and actually interact with regular humans without exposing the Autobots themselves. So, basically, you just need to describe what your holo-driver looks like.

For instance, my character Smokescreen's avatar is "A young, athletic caucasian male wearing sunglasses, a red t-shirt and blue jeans."

If you scroll down just past the abilities section you will notice that there is one sentence describing a holomatter avatar.

The RPG has changed to an IDW-like setting. The Autobots are on Earth, and as such they need to have realistic looking human holomatter avatars in order to drive around the streets near real humans.

In the IDW comics the Wreckers are comprised of the following 'bots:

Springer (Leader)
Broadside
Sandstorm
Top Spin
Twin Twist
Roadbuster
Whirl
Scoop

Now, whether this holds true for the RPG, only a mod could tell you.

Well, I was considering applying for a character like roadbuster or whirl to serve as a autobot counterpart to blitzwing, but if they're off limits, then I'll look elsewhere.

Ah. Well then, anybody have any ideas as to who I should go for? I'm looking for a good, battle-oriented 'bot with a distinct personality. any reccomendations?

All the remaining Autobots on the Canon Roster list have pretty distinct personalities. Cliffjumper seems the most battle oriented of those remaining. But I suppose if you're roleplaying them any of them can become more battle oriented.

So, uh, where'd the news post come from? seems a little oddly timed to anounce the RPG when it already started.

We thought it would be good to drum up interest in the RPG. As for timing, the game did just restart and recover from the board crash. Now is an ideal time to advertise and bring more people in.
