I guess I owe everyone a bit of an apology for my lack of participation over the last week and a half. A combination of drama at home, at work, the need for extra sleep and a bit of writer's block has kept me from coming up with anything. I've got today and tomorrow off, girlfriend has to work and kids have school, so I should get caught back up.

I tell ya, this was a lot easier when I was a loser living with my parents working a part time job.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting as much as I should. Life has been very busy lately. Things are slowing down now though, so you can expect to see some posts more frequently.

I just saw the new Avengers movie. Most. Awesome. Thing. Ever. It had everything I want out of a movie in it. Comedy, action, adventure, drama, good plot, and romance enough to make me awwww but not enough to make me wanna puke. If you go to see it, be sure to stay even after the scrolling credits have ended. It's worth it.

Hulk had some of the absolute best scenes. Loki: "You shall kneel before me you insignificant-" Hulk then begins to slam him on the ground over and over again. Best. Scene. Ever.

One thing bothered me about the near end when Iron Man redirected the Nuke. He said that he was at low power, right? So why couldn't Thor fly over and charge him up with some lightning before he went and grabbed the nuke? Major plot spoilers, by the way.

So it seems that they are going to do the Infinity Gauntlet next... Hm. I wonder how they'll handle it.

Natasha is so awesome that she can completely forgo the need of body armor or any form of combat protection. Her boobs would not allow it.

2 stag weekends, a festival and a crazy pagan handfasting/wedding later and I've pretty much sobered up for the first time in a month now. Just got to finally write the reviews of Autocracy and MTMTE for him upstairs then I can get back to the important business of trashing Earth with the fun kids. And Phaze.

Any thing interesting happen in the last month? I hear capes are this seasons must-have accessories...

Heh, there is nothing to be nervous about when it comes to playing a canon character. Just got to find one who's personality blends with yours and then find the details that make them unique. Play those personality traits up and bamn ya got yourself a character.

Hey, don't be too nervous. I was in your shoes only a few months ago. It's as Marcus said, find a character whose personality meshes with yours. If you need help deciding on one, I'm sure there are a number of people willing to help you. Don't be afraid to ask questions either. We don't bite. Much.

But what if you RP them wrong? What if your version of the character isn't canonically what the character really is? There are expectations and limitations and gujhasgjfgjakj *flails*. I'd want to do the character justice, but what if I don't know certain things about them or I don't know how to handle them in a combat situation? Um..... I think this might also be my first RP with guns. OTL (I'm not a newb, just nervous and prone to overthinking TTuTT)

EDIT: I also don't know which characters would be okay for a freshie to RP. A lot of them are either ones I don't know a lot about or..... I'd be nervous about RPing them! I mean, right now Jetfire is apparently open and he's a character I know pretty well personality wise, but I'm not sure if my version of him is the version to use or how to RP him or even if I can RP him-- hifdugdsgakl *flails*

Ok, first off. Take a deep breath.....now breathe out slowly. Gestalt teams are usually really good for first timers. You get a team to help you along. It sort of depends with solo types. And you shouldn't worry too much about a character being canonically correct or not. There have been many different interpretations of the transformers characters over the years. So it's really not that much of a big deal. If you compare the G1 Arcee to the Prime Arcee...yeah, so don't worry so much. This rpg is based more on the IDW comics anyway.

They're a mixture of G1 and IDW.

The worst thing that can happen is you apply and the app gets rejected. I know for some that can sound bad, but it's really not. There are a lot worse things in the world. It is just a game, after all

The sample post is where the mods can see (for example) whether or not someone applying for Jetfire has him close to what we would expect for the character to act and sound like or whether the person is writing Blurr. If someone writes a sample and we like it, a player would have to totally go against whatever they did in the sample in order to get a character "wrong".

And there's certainly a degree of creative license at play as well. I give Shockwave less personality than he even had in the original series (which is saying something) and pattern his speech after what Furman used to do in the old comics. That's fine and dandy, but if I were take Cyclonus and have him start yammering on like Blurr, Cry would give me a flogging.

In an nutshell, don't overthink it. You'll pick up a lot as you go, after you dive in.

Going on Foxy's advice, I do know Swoop pretty well too. Yeah. I could dig doing a Dinobot. Lovable little lizards they are. I noticed there's already a profile for both him and Jetfire, so how much of those would I be keeping and how much am I changing? And am I to assume that these Dinos are talking in "Me Grimlock"s?

And I love app rejections. I mean, not the ones that just say "No u suck", but it's reassuring to know that if I get something wrong I have other eyes to tell me that. I'm always paranoid that I RP really badly but no one wants to bother saying it, so I try to RP really well x3

Does anybody here own a Acer Netbook? The reason I want opinions is becuase time is of the essance here

I own one, actually. The Acer Aspire; 15.6". It's a pretty good notebook. A bit big and clunky to the point where it won't fit in my locker or backpack easily, but the actual hardware is good enough. I've found that the mousepad can be a little insensitive at times, but it's not to the point that it's a problem. Screen is pretty bright and colors come out nicely. I can run most games on it without any problem so long as I'm not playing, say, Mass Effect on super high-def. I have run into a problem where I've loaded so much crap onto it that it's gotten a bit slow, but that's a result of having lots of programs that I used for one specific thing then didn't bother to uninstall them. Overall I'd recommend Acer if you're considering buying one. They're generally reliable in my experience and when it comes down to it: they get the job done.
