Welcome to the RPG! Or the process of becoming a member! :KREMZEEK:

I understand where you're coming from by using a fanmade as your first character. My first was also a fanmade. Useful for feeling out how the game worked, what flew and what didn't. But one of the gestalt team members are also good for that too. They don't have too much of a personality to begin with, so there's not much to get wrong.

As for the basics, after a character gets approved, you'll generally get directed to a thread where you can post for your character. Threads and story arcs are location based so there's a story on Earth separate from the one in space. It's kind of up to you on where you want to go. I'll give you a little plot summary for each place.

Earth: Optimus Prime and Megatron are dead/missing in action. Ultra Magnus and Razorclaw are the new supreme leaders of both factions. Hot Rod (now Rodimus Prime) is possessed by the Fallen and threatens to destroy all Cybertronians. The Autobots and Decepticons are teaming up to fight him. Good times ensue.

Convergence: Scorponok has defeated Fortress Maximus! The Autobot prison, Garrus 9, has all but fallen. The remaining Autobots struggle to survive. The Decepticons secure their new prison. New threats lurk over the horizon, however.

Tada! Plot summaries. Gotta love them.

Yes! Welcome aboard Slash! Fox is right though, if you're looking to getting your feet wet I'd recommend choosing a member of a gestalt team. Personally I'd go for the Constructicon, Scavenger. He's currently sitting in a comfortable place game-wise so there isn't much you'd have to do to get the ball rolling with him. (And don't listen to the Monstercon players, we all know Devastator was the first combiner :p)

Hehe, thanks a lot all of you! I can't wait either.

Also, judging by the summaries of Fox, I think I might start out on Earth. It seems easier for me to fit into. And anyway, my character, Nitron, is a Dodge Dart GT, perfect for burning some rubber and blasting Nitrogenous Oxide on the dirt!

Also, is this sort of a freeform RP? I can see from most of the threads it is, so it should be. (I absolutely dislike RP with dices and all)

There's no dice here. We do have stats, but those are guidelines for what your character should be capable of. Nothing is dependent on chance...I'd care to call this more of an interactive novel.

I wouldn't worry about English being your second language. A couple writers here also have english as a second language, so you're not alone.

Yes....sample posts are important. They demonstrate writing ability and for fanmades, a taste of the character before it goes into the game. Plus, if you make them your first post with the character, you can just post the sample into the relevant thread when you're approved.

If you ever need or want advice or to plan out some interactions for your character, feel free to message me or Insidious. Sid is really helpful, but he's not much for autobots. I have a couple more of those than him, so I can help you on the interaction side of things if you like. Of course, talking to any of the other players is also an option.

Also, I personally have an affinity Decepticons too. I find them cool. But nowadays, there are so many Decepticons, I just don't like them anymore. The Autobots need some respect too, even if most of them cannot be planes and have to be land/sea vehicles. And I like bright and fun stuff. Most Decepticons have dull colors, like gre/ay, olive and black. I like bright colors better. It makes me feel free and great.

If you need a place for Autobots, ask Marcus Rush. He plays Ultra Magnus and as with any player he does favor certain mechs over others. If you want a flier Autobot, there are a couple of Aerialbots open. I will have to correct one of the statements about gestalt members. A few of them have personalities but not all. The other thing you might need to know is we do borrow heavily from IDW and a little from TF: Prime. Most of us don't care for the Unicron Trilogy (Armada, Energon, Cybertron) so any ideas from those three will be hard to make it in. Beast Wars and Beast Machine will also be difficult to incorporate.

As for technology, none of the Master tech has been fully developed so no target, head, micro, or action masters. There are only two Pretenders and both are Cons. Gestalt technology is beginning to be rediscovered.

If you find yourself wanting to play a canon character and find out it is an NPC, you can still apply for the character but would be polite to ask the person who is NPCing to see where the character is at. We do ask for you to keep your roster updated so the admins can keep the official roster updated.

And so I fall victim to one of the pitfalls of generalizing. Yes, some gestalt team members have very defined personalities. Thank you sumo. What I meant was that with most, you have some interpretive elbow room to do what you want with the character. A lot really.

Marcus is a good guy to talk to about getting some Autobots, though he'll probably throw Brawn or a Technobot at you. I have no idea why he wants Brawn filled but Technobots is pretty easy to guess. They're his team. They're in Convergence being held by the Decepticon forces there. Marcus would add "but not for much longer".

I know the player of Silverbolt wouldn't mind some more Aerialbots to fill out his team. Sumo here runs the Protectobots, and they have a lot of open spots. Since I'm at it, Cry, the game admin, runs the Terrorcons and the Stunticons. Sid runs the Combaticons, Smokey runs the Predacons, and Domey (MasterSoundBlaster) runs the Constructicons. Which is why he was trying to recruit you into his team.

Yours truly heads the Seacons and Monstercons. I'll spare you my recruitment pitch for those guys as you've already expressed more interest in Autobots. So, I have another pitch lined up just for you. *ahem*

Have you ever wondered what its like living inside someone else's chest? Do you like enclosed spaces? How about sharing that enclosed space with several other roommates? Wait. No? You don't? Weirdo. Well, if you change your mind, you could try playing one of Blaster's cassettobots! All the comforts of a gestalt team minus the gestalt (unless you're one of the paired combining cassettes)!

Silly pitch aside, you could play one of the cassettes if you like. There's a lot of room for interpretation with some. However, Rewind, Eject and Steeljaw are taken. That leaves Ramhorn and any of the cassettes you see on this list that are available to play. If you see one you like, great! I'm just making suggestions.

If anyone else wants to get in on the cassette action like you, sumo, feel free. It's open season on cassettes.

I will agree with Foxfire where many canon characters don't have much beyond name, stats, and quote so those are basically blank protos. To expand a little on my technology post, you can still play canon characters if they are one of the Masters but without their Master abilities. We set our own timeline which includes technological advances. Right now the Autobots are working on several projects with one being a ground bridge. You are more than willing to toss out ideas for new or under used canon ideas but might be eaiser if you picked up one of the many "brain" mechs. If you want more details on the Bot side, tag Marcus again. I like to think this RPG is fairly lienent on ideas but don't expect every idea you come up with to be accepted. Many might be denied or modified to help fit into what we already have done.

I suppose I should give y’all an update.

Things on my end have been rather hectic and I’m not sure just when they’ll simmer down.
Training has been going rather smoothly; I was able to teach a couple classes. I was also able to tape last week. Unfortunately that didn’t go as well as I thought it would. After the class was over I found out that my recording device cut out….twice. And that doesn’t even include the introduction I THOUGHT recorded in the beginning.

Long story short (too late) I’m going to try to set up another taping day this Friday. Keep your fingers crossed that this time around everything goes well.

On the game end, I’ve worked on a post last night, an addition to it and it should be up late, very late, this evening.

Sorry people, but there has been another level of crap that has worked its way into my life.

Saturday the family and I went to Pittsburgh for a weekend getaway. Nice drive no problems. That is until we get settled into the hotel room. I found out that earlier that day my younger brother was in a bad motorcycle accident and was in the hospital. Saturday night was then filled with tons of texting and phone calls.

He wound up breaking his clavicle and scapula and he was scheduled for surgery on Monday. Well, when they took him in for another CAT scan they realized they didn't have the piece of equipment they'd need to perform the surgery so they discharged him until today.

He's doing good but only his clavicle was repaired. They're going to take another CAT scan to see if work needs to be done on the scapula they'll know.

So yeah. I'm still waiting on word for my assessment and my brother has an accident. I'll be trying to get up to date as soon as I can.

Hey there, fellow RPers!

Come one, come all to a brand new storyline taking place out in the stars! It's got thrills! Drama! Roman- Maybe not that one. But still! It's got all the stuff! It's also right here.

In this particular storyline, we have opening for a variety of characters. Perhaps some of you have noticed the app-explosion in the application thread. Well, that is for this storyline.

On the Decepticon side of thing, we have the Predators, meaning Skyquake and his lot. While they are pretty much filled, you can always talk to one of their players if you see someone you like.

On the Autobot side of things, we have Thunderclash and his Turbomasters. The Turbomasters are Rotorstorm, Boss, Hurricane, Scorch, and Flash. If you see one you like, pick them up! We also have the lovely female autobots of which, Lancer, Moonracer, Firestar, and Greenlight are still available. Any other Autobot femmes would be very welcome as well!

So, if you see someone you like, be sure to come on down!

Who are the Turbomasters? I've read most of the application from the explosion you mention and read the pre-generated Seeker group a while back.

Hey guys, looking into joining you on this. I've never done this kind of RPG before and would love to get involved. Trying to come up with a character as trying to fit into a character for me is a bit hard. I do writing and when I've had to write stuff by other people, it's always been hard cause it does give me the freedom I'm used to an enjoy. I write much better when it's my own. Same goes for a RP character, where I feel limited by a premade/canon character, cause sometimes I don't know in certain situations what they would or wouldn't do.

However, reading all of this has melted my brain a bit. Really looking to get into this with you guys, and hopefully, not screw it up. ROFL

I know the feeling quite well. It is difficult to get into a complex canon character and really wear their mantel to its fullest. Of course there are simpler canons to get your feet wet. Brawn, for example, is pretty much the Autobot Strong Man, and he lives up to that with bluster and backs it up with a Nickle Knuckle Sandwich to any and all Decepticons who get in his way. Don't let his size fool you, he can take down some of the biggest baddies out there... and he is pretty straight forward.

If you do decide to take on a canon character, you can always ask for guidance on what to do in a given situation. There are a few references like the toy bio and http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Main_Page if you need a bit more directing. We can even help pick out a character if you know what type you want. A fair warning, if you go for really high ranked or powered character, it will be turned down until you have proven you are willing to stay with us and able to role play well. As Foxfire said, ask any of us via PM or in here about whatever and we'll gladly answer your questions.

Air Raid is still open but not sure about Spinister. You'll complete the Aerialbots once again. If you have lost track, Air Raid is with the rest in the Fire thread facing the Fallen.

I've worked hard. Sweated more than I've ever sweated in my life and it all paid off. I'm now a Certified Les Mills RPM Instructor!
