NBC's Today Show- With temperatures expected to be in the single digits next week, snow and sleet squalls, and of course, another football playoff season without the Detroit Lions in them, Michiganders know it is January in Michigan, and with this time of year comes the Detroit Auto Show.
Known for showcasing and previewing many new model year cars, as well as concept cars from all the different car companies, the
Detroit Auto Show (also known as the NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW) suddenly becomes very relevant to Transformer's fans because of Michael Bay's insistence on cars that are cutting edge for his movies, and his close ties with GM.
Car enthusiast website,
Jalopnik.com, reports that this morning on the Today Show, host Matt Lauer broadcast from Detroit at General Motor's Warren Tech Center where Lauer teased the Chevy Beat would be making an appearance at the N.A.I.A.S. in Detroit next week.
The Chevy Beat, based on leaked photographs and footage from sets, will also be making an appearance in the Transformers movie sequel due out this summer as an Autobot named Skids! While not the exact same as the production model that will be shown on at the show this week, it is a good opportunity for Michiganders (and visitors to Michigan) to see the Beat up close.
You can view video of Lauer revealing the Beat on this morning's Today Show
here.
Open to the public the 17th through the 25th of January, this should be a nice opportunity for some of our community members.
