I do, too. But I sure would like to see them try.

And I wouldn't worry about potential Hasbro releases impacting the value of existing Fansproject ones. The Fansproject parts are premium pieces at premium prices with limited production runs. I'm pretty sure they will maintain their appeal to collectors, regardless of what Hasbro does.

I think we should get a new Springer. And a new Blaster for that matter. Those two are some of my favorties, and they're both very important characters and they both deserve better than a Cybertron repaint. I don't think it is necessarily such a ridiculous request, either, considering Dirge got his own Classics toy. I just want all the Triple changers in the same class size. I want that sooooooo badly.

After reading the last 3 to 5 pages here talking about who fits where in what line? The Neo G1 thing is ok, and i can understand where everyone is coming to make it work, or until Hasbro and Takara decides to redo or make every G1 and maybe G2 (< not likely) out there, but what about this new Lugnut figure? where in the hell does he fit in? First off he is NOT a G1 figure and his first real appearance was in the animated cartoon which i really didn't care for, but overall what do you guys think of Lugnut? should be belong in the G1 line or another line.

In the expanded G1 line, for a number of reasons:

1) TakaraTomy has him lined up for United, which normally only has G1 characters
2) Along with Bulkhead and Lockdown, he's an Animated character that made a jump between continuities/lines.
3) Speaking of Lockdown, RotF Lockdown was repurposed for a G1 version of him in the comics featuring Drift. You could do the same thing with Lugnut.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

By the same reasoning, as pointed out earlier, he's(Lugnut) in the G1 based comic from Battle in Space. RtS/United Lugnut is definitely meant to fit into the Neo-G1 sets.

Completely different situation.

The intent to make those toys undoubtedly existed. Animated was stopped, and so the toys stopped. Had animated continued, I'm sure we would have gotten many more toys based on those characters and more.

The classics/universe stuff has no cartoon attached. It's a toyline that's really just that. Yes, it has older things attached to it. Though, none of that is modern. A comic is made for some bits of story. What's an 8 year old kid suppose to think of all these characters? Well, the comic helps spell it out.
The comic absolutely shows direction and intent, as did the animated one. It's not a 100% thing, but I wouldn't ignore it.

Plus the animated Pack-in comic was really just issue 6 of The Arrival which was being published back then by idw.

Plus Boo himself stated that the book was filled with upcoming toys, just like he said that Kup on the cover was indeed the new Classics style Kup toy.

1. Sweet! I'll definitely have to find the Lockdown, now. Maybe even pick up Axor to fill in the empty space on my Decepticon shelf.

2. I'm SOOOOOOO glad that they decided to do that with Lugnut. I would, also, like to get a Bulkhead, too.

Exactly. I welcome any new characters that weren't in the original G1 saga. Besides, Lugnut fits in quite nicely with the current Generation/RTS lines. As far as fiction goes, I don't see why he shouldn't be integrated with G1. My point is, it's fine if you didn't like the late Animated series, but you have to be open to the characters that were in it. Most of them were very interesting characters, this includes both Lockdown and Lugnut.

i'm still waiting for the Voyager set to come out so I can get Lugnut and Grapple. Not sure about Strafe since I have Mindwipe and Smokescreen. I'm pretty sure, though, that he will end up being one I can find on clearance in the future. I think Lugnut looks awesome in this version, especially since I wasn't too thrilled with the animated version. And I definitely want Grapple.

I wonder what the DSOTM Shockwave will look like? I'm sure he'll be all Bayed-up and I probably won't like him, especially with the way they did Soundwave. I hope there is one released from Hastak.

I'm with you; I can't wait for Lugnut and Grapple to hit store shelves. The same goes for Windcharger.

As far as DOTM Shockwave goes, you never know. He might be full greatness but definately "Bayed-up". If anything, I'm sure the head would make for great custom projects. ;)

I don't have any sources to back this up, but yes it has. I remember reading about it months ago when they revealed the first pics of the new RTS/Generations toys in a Chinese convention. It was announced then that almost all molds would be getting the repainted/retooled treatment. Perceptor was stated to be retooled as Reflector sometime later this year.

Isn't Generations a classics 3.0?
Anyway, I know it will never happen but I'd like to see a couple more BW characters get the classics love. Preferably Rhinox and Silverbolt.

As far as G1, bring in the deluxe Warpath, Cosmos, Trailbreaker, and Hoist. Voyager Galvatron would be really cool as well.

I was under the impression though that the artists comments were about Kup. I didn't know the other figures were possibilities as well.

Nope. It's meant to have all "Generations" in it, that's why we have WFC, IDW, G1 and G1 in it so far. It has the ability to have the best ( and sometimes worst) of both classics and universe.

Oh, ok. I thought that's why Classics expanded to the "universe" name in 2.0 but I see your point. So Classics 3.0 is confirmed?

Great! expanded G1 line for Transformers! Sounds like Expanded Universe from StarWars! Someone needs to draw the line with expanded characters from anywhere and just focus on mainstream characters.

I would have to disagree with you about Lugnut in the original G1 line, first he's not G1 from the G1 saga 25 years ago, he only from the animated, also his aesthetics are wrong for for using him in G1 i think, unless your talking about the Genline/RTS line then yes he does fit in, but the more i see him, the more he doesnt belong in the G1 saga line of Transformers, but thats me and I really didnt like for hasbro jumping lines from animated from Genline or RTS like they did with lockdown, Axor and now Lugnut. Maybe when i see him in person i MIGHT change my mind about him.

And I said expanded G1 line, for characters that appeared in modern times. Drift is a prime example of that, as well as the eHobby reissues.

Great! expanded G1 line for Transformers! Sounds like Expanded Universe from StarWars! Someone needs to draw the line with expanded characters from anywhere and just focus on mainstream characters.

No they don't. That's the great think about a universe, it's big enough to have people in it other than those we've seen before and know everything about. Only focusing on the mainstream characters gets boring fast.

I've got my Lockdown on my Animated shelf. Lugnut will be joining him.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Why would anyone NOT want lugnut added into G1 continuity? He's fracking GLORIOUS.

I would have to agree. Lugnut is a great character, and a necessary one at that. Has/Tak did a good job with the figure, giving it the capability to join the movie-verse toys as well as the classics toys. It also gives the Decepticons a character they've needed for a long time. A blindly loyal Decepticon whom would follow ANY and ALL of Megatron's orders. I am not upset about Lugnut AT ALL.
