Nope. It's meant to have all "Generations" in it, that's why we have WFC, IDW, G1 and G1 in it so far. It has the ability to have the best ( and sometimes worst) of both classics and universe.

Oh, ok. I thought that's why Classics expanded to the "universe" name in 2.0 but I see your point. So Classics 3.0 is confirmed?

Universe 2.0 and Classics 3.0 are fan terms. They've never been used by Hasbro in official materials.

My question being, is a line that the fans would dub, "classics 3.0" confirmed by Hasbro. Or are we just speculating on figures that could be a part of a Classics 3.0.

Ok Classics 2.0 was the previous Universe line that saw original characters and names brought back with new molds, like Sideswipe and Inferno, or in repaints, like Springer and Ratbat. "Classics 3.0" is a loose term for the two lines of Generations and Reveal the Shield, because we again see some original characters (some quite wonderfully) revisited with either new molds like Jazz and Straxus(Darkmount) or with repaints like Dirge and Red Alert. The "Classics" name was only used in the small series in 2006 inwhich Prime, Megs and other famous Tformers got a new toy and the name has stuck with fans as a way to recognize this trend in current lines.

I was under the assumption that Generations/RTS was our classics 3.0 but informed a few posts ago that it is not..

Anyway, looks like we are going to get out Classics style Arcee and Warpath.

To make it easy to read:

2006: Classic Deluxes and Classic Voyagers*
2008: Universe (aka "Classics 2.0" or "Universe 2.0")
2010-2011: Generations (no rubsigns) and Reveal the Shield (with rubsign)

*The line proper was just named "Transformers"

The Generations line will continue alongside Reveal the Shield. To avoid confusion, here's the line up for both:

Generations
Scourge
Sergeant Kup
Thundercracker
Wheeljack

Reveal the Shield
Bumblebee
Perceptor
Wreck-Gar
Optimus Prime (G2 Laser)

Plus a couple of unidentified and/or placed retools:

Black Shadow (out of Thunderwing)
Reflector (out of Perceptor)
??? (out of Scourge)
??? (out of Sergeant Kup)
??? (out of Tomahawk)
??? (out of Terradive)
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

- Jelze Bunnycat =:3

Looking for:
- TR Furos (Hardhead's head) and Crashbash (lost him :()
- PotP Punch head
- TR Galvatron right arm (the gun one)
- CW Brake-Neck/UW Wildrider, CW Offroad
- TR Twinferno & Grotusque
- Greenlight, Lancer and PotP Elita-1
- Legacy Core Slug, Sludge & Snarl

Wreck-gar having a rubsign seems so weird to me. I guess he did ally with the autobots, but I really like to think of the junkions as their own thing.

Yeah what he said. Where did you hear about a Reflector repaint/tool of Perceptor? That would be awesome! Are there any pics yet? That would be great.

Hasbro had confirmed that the alternate head for Perceptor will be Reflector. I think it might have been botcon but I don't feel like searching for the particular news story. No pics yet.

Perceptor should NOT be repainted into 'Reflector'. It's RIDICULOUS. It doesn't make any sense other than a cash grab by Hasbro.

It's actually insulting if you ask me. I can, but prefer not, to accept Perceptor as a truck. Yes fine, he's a mobile science/research whatever. To use that same mold and use it for Reflector who's 3 individual TF's and transformes to a camera is f@*#!n lazy and unimaginative on Hasbro's part.

Thank goodness for PE making a Reflector proper.

Hasbro could have easily made something similar to what PE is doing and done it for cheap. It really is only 3 scout class figures with heaps of accessories.

Your right. It doesn't make sense. Good thing Hasbro mentioned the Perceptor repaint as a maybe. I know this because I was at Botcon when they announced it.

The context was, here's the Perceptor we're releasing. Hasbro shows picture of Perceptor. Here's a picture of the alternate head we made. Picture of alternate Perceptor head shown. Hasbro said the head was an homage to the original toy design, and that they MIGHT release it as Reflector, even though those plans aren't definite.

Can anyone else who was at the 2010 Botcon Panel confirm this?

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't sure if this was actually confirmed or not. I just remembered the article I read on this site vaguely.

The alt mode doesn't make much sense, true. Unless you think of it as a kind of undercover van/truck kind of thing. The treads don't make a lot of sense in that situation, though. But the mold for the robot mode is perfect. In a sense, I think it would be sill of them to release an entirely new Transformer that would have a similar robot mode. So, the alt mode is dumb, but I'll be damned if I'm NOT going to have a Reflector.
