LOL Totally thought that was a light box...but now that I think about buying some of that art and making a thin led light box would be kewl for backgrounds on a shelf...hmmm next project idea gears are turning...

Wow there are a ton really awesome pics out there, thanks for the heads up.

never followed beastwars, I am assuming that's where these come from? Who is the character in the first pic with the clock?

All the pose and backgrounds are really cool and well done!

Hi name is Heinlad, based on the mythylogical Japanese Tanuki figure which is known for his giant balls.

Hey guys, lets try to keep it clean in here. Think of the children.

Actually, the Seibertron gallery gives a real good synopsis. The toy does also kind of have a pair of jewels. They turn into little jets in robot mode.

...and thanks for the kind words about my photos donny. :D

EDIT: thanks Will. That photo above displays his gents quite nicely. those dark orbs under the clock.

Japan used to be more open about things like that till they opened to the west, like there is a infamous woodcut called dreams of the fisherman's wife... (may of called it the wrong name)

Just did some google-ing and read a bit about it, but yes there it is all over Japanese culture there are tons and tons of legends about this very real animal.

There was one tidbit that said the oversized testicles are meant to convey good financial luck...not sure how true that is...even it is I will stick with my feng shui money coins on the front door knob.

The little critter is also a notorius drunk, hence the bottle of sakai. Not sure whats up with the bento box though. I love that they combine to form his gun.

I mean no offense when I say this, but Japanese culture is about the most alien thing to me on this earth. It fascinates me to no end. It fuels my love for Japanese robots too.

I totally understand I find it very fascinating as well. I think part of it's attraction is that there are some things that are very different from western culture and specifically American culture.

I did find it interesting that the Tanuki is also the little suit available for Mario to wear in the video game sans the testes LOL

Until I was putting to gether the post for "Best Beast Wars" thread, and I looked up Heinlad to make sure I was spelling his name right, I was always under the assumption he was a racoon. Same for the Animal Crossing and Mario characters.

the tanuki is more like a fox though.
