I'm still finishing up the final touches to my new display. I should have some pictures taken by tonight.
Also... I just ordered MP10 Convoy on eBay!!!!' He was $147 shipped from the USA. I kind of like the Hasbro version better but the Takara one was cheaper. The one I purchased is complete but not sealed so someone took it out then put it back in the original box which I don't mind. Absolutely can not wait at all!!!!!!

Excellent purchase! I wish I had the Takara, as I like the blue better. Now you need Apollyon to complimentjoeprime276 wrote:I'm still finishing up the final touches to my new display. I should have some pictures taken by tonight.

Late to my own party as usual.
NICE Joey Primo! That is a great score at a great price! I think you are gonna be really happy. I have the Hasbro Asia version and I like him just fine, but I think the perfect combo would be Takara dark blue with Hasbro eyes. But, again I am not complaining.
So Joe, is he gonna be your definitive Prime? He is rather big next to deluxe class, but I think he is gonna look real good on your shelf no matter what. You asked a while back about Primes in the CW thread and said the arm kibble on Classics bugged you. I gotta say, when he is in hand, you really don't notice it that much. I really love that mold.
But, ya know what? Too late now. HERE COMES MASTERPIECE!!!!
Congrats!

Congrats! You're gonna love him, you said you were just getting through the season 2 of G1? New to TFs altogether? (just trying to put a frame of reference around how I describe things). Like MP10 being my definitive prime, since he is pretty much what I wanted my original G1 toy to be when I was a kid...
I lived with mine (MP10) for a while but I did end up getting the Reprolabels set for MP10 mostly because of the decals for the trailer which is beautifully sculpted but has no other paint or details...that set brings it to life. Just my 2 cents.

Feeling better, getting old blows! I was quiet mainly due to being in TX for work last for the past 7 days...,
Been spending the weekend with my peeps and pupz, I missed them terribly when I was away. I got some new goodies in the post, for which a photo blitz will be coming.
Got MP 21G, fans project sigma L (aka Mindwipe), Generations: Scoop, Waspinator and Nightbeat (coulnd't pass up 7 or 8 bucks each for them).
I have also been looking for a definitive representation of an updated G1 Skids for my collection, and I am going to give the Alternators version a go, got him for 30 bucks MISB.
Finally I purschase my 1 and only movie figure, Jolt. Couldn't pass up getting a transformer that turns in to the car I actually own!
How are things in Cobzville? Any new happenings to speak of? Hope the weekend is/has been good for you and the fam.

I explain the MP line in a similar way. They are how my rose tinted brain remembers the toys.
That's the only Alternators figure I own. I choose him because his robot mode looked the best out of the bunch. I haven't transformed him since we moved in, guess it's time to fix that.I have also been looking for a definitive representation of an updated G1 Skids for my collection, and I am going to give the Alternators version a go
Have you ever thought of giving the Gen Skids a go?
Stickers scare me, so I've yet to get any Reprolabels. MP-10's are on the wish list though.

2 months, D. I'm 2 months away. Man, I've spent more money this year on freakin' dental work then my entire 38 years of having teeth. I also just got a check up and learned I'm one click over the line for pre-diabetes! WTF!? It's fine though, I have to cut back on carbs, which will be easy because I won't have any teeth.donny1975 wrote:...getting old blows!Cobotron wrote:What's new in 1975sville?
Donny, remember when it took little to no effort to get up out of a chair?
Nice deal on those old Generations toys. They are a fun bunch.
I have the Kiss Players Broad Blast (Blaster repaint of Skids). He's hangin' out the MPs. Pretty much everything Cary said over at his house. Mine has super loose ankles too. Honestly all those Alternators are kind of a mess, but they all have redeeming qualities too. I wonder if the Alt. Skids is all plastic? Broad Blast is hella die-cast, which doesn't help the ankle situation. He stands fine as long as you don't talk to him.I have also been looking for a definitive representation of an updated G1 Skids for my collection, and I am going to give the Alternators version a go, got him for 30 bucks MISB.
That is cool. Is yours blue? Now if I can just find an 80s Datsun Z.Couldn't pass up getting a transformer that turns in to the car I actually own!Nerd ON!
Things are good. The jump from one kid to two has been challenging, but we're figuring it out over here. Not a lot of good sleeping going on these days. How are things in Cobzville?
I have been burning the candle at both ends making some new art, and learning all that new software. That feels real good.
Here's a little taste of the kinda stuff I'm learning.

Y'all like my TF-esque robo dude? He's just strollin'.

I don't know Cram. You might be able to keep your star wars and eat starscream too. He is only 59.99 at TRU. You gots an offspring, don't you get hella coupons from TRU/BRU? I had $10 in Geoffry Bucks I used to score him even cheaper.

I apologize Cobs I didn't see your earlier reply to my post...missing emails I suppose.
But yes I feel you exactly on the dental work, I have spent $ on that for the last 2 years than my whole life. But I am not gonna complain, my teeth have been pretty maintenance free up to now...
I do have my Alt Skids...will be putting pics of him up soon. I preemptively floor polished his ankles...
My Volt is black, but I think you already saw that in my Volt pics.
Incorporating changes of any kind into your life is stressful. I only have my 2 fur babies so I have no frame of reference for adding another little human being into my life, Kudos to you and the Mrs. and all the other 'rents out there!
Glad to hear you are getting your work/learn on and feeling good about it.
Diggin your walkin' bot as well...good stuff!

Hey Cram! I just realized something. You said you use those coupons for baby stuff. Like diapers and junk right? Here's something to look forward to, TRU doesn't know when your child becomes potty trained, so the coupons just keep coming.
Guys, I am absolutely elated about finding Starscream in store. I was the jerk who got pushed out of line on pre-order day. The classic, got him in my cart, check out goes fine, then no confirmation e-mail. Call CS and no record of the transaction. I got the boot. so it came down to my 20 years of finely honed hunting skills. I laid out the story over here if your interested. I feel like the employees at most TRUs are bitter jerks. I've had some experiences that left me pretty angry. I know they probably get tired of pesky collector types, but you gotta know how to talk to people. Kill them with kindness, ya know?
Anyway, once my blood hound nose had picked up the trail, I wasn't going to let it go. I even had a hard time sleeping that night.
When this kind of hunt pays off, it really is one of the best feelings. We all joke about our plastic crack addictions, but I am riding super high on this score.
I don't know if I'll buy anymore MP Seekers, but I really wanted Screamer here because I have no intention of picking up MP-05, and by the time I can fit Apollyon into my budget, he'll be going for break the bank prices. Now I feel like I have a commander for my MP Con ranks. I don't think Soundwave likes being the boss. He'll do it if he has to, but he really just likes doing his job. And he does it really well.
Cary, I'm glad you got a pre-order in. I forget, do you have any MP Seekers? This release is super solid (unlike last years Sunstorm). You can't beat this price with a stick either. Your gonna love him.
I'll leave you with a little more eye candy to keep you jonesing for him.

Anybody wanna wager that next years MP
will be Skywarp?

Great job on the last one everybody. Lots of good shots, and it sounded like all us growed ups had a blast taking our little action figure men outside to play. Nobody lost any weapons now, did they?

Challenge 2: The Battle of Bedroom Floor

When I was a lad, I spent many a rainy days and Sundays setting up the most elaborate battles on the floor of my bedroom. What I wouldn't give for some pictures of those epic wars.
Here's the deal. Set up a giant battle scene, anywhere. Floor, table, desk, kickass Ark diorama, any where. Let's just keep it indoors.
Really this is more about poses and dynamics of the figures, as opposed to photosmenship, but feel free to make it pretty. Background is not really important. It's about the toys.
Use anybody you want, Classics, Prime, MP, Legions, whatever. Hell, mix 'em up if'n y'ant to.
Feel free to use stands and supports, or even build a fort out of boxes and Styrofoam cups.
Just make it EPIC!
Who will emerge the victors? Who will feel the agony of defeat? Only YOU can decide...
And if you are just joining us, feel free to jump on in. Anybody is welcome.

All entries due by Sunday Sept. 27th. Please post here in the Collect-O-Tron.

I am very suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I totally trust a dog that doesn't like a person...
