I remember passing on YOTH Optimus when TRU had them for cheap on their eBay page. I think they were $75 or less shipped. Man, I shoulda used them for troop building!! I really liked that color scheme too.

I was just reading through your thread which I think should be re-named "Dear Cobotron"

You beat me to the BBTS listing...I second that buy. In fact when BBTS got him in stock I bought second to have in MISB.
But from a relative noob to collecting to another...entering the MP arena...
I would say my first buy list would be Prime, Bee, Prowl, Wheeljack, Starscream, Soundwave and minions...with all the re-issues Takara is doing I would suspect a Soundwave re-issue at some point....
I am very suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I totally trust a dog that doesn't like a person...

Oh man! I didnt know he was still in stock but I know why now. I was just searching for MP-10 and he is not listed with such a code. Oh man, that is THE way to go (it's what I did and I feel no regrets even though I feel he should go for a bit less).

Holy! It's nuts that that's still available. Well, I'll fight to the death on the superiority of Takara's MP10, but if it simply comes down to dollars then I 100% understand because everyone needs that mold. Not to mention, that bonus Key to Vector Sigma is almost worth it on its own

Why no Hasbro love shaj?! Other than the looseness mine experiences, he's been great for the last 3 years or however long I've had him. Also, I bought that re-issue for my nephew last Christmas, and kept the Vector Sigma for myself"Fight to the death" shajaki wrote:Holy! It's nuts that that's still available. That's quite clever of you. Did he know that it came with Vector Sigma in the first place?

WTH, I stopped getting email updates on this thread. Well, that was a lot of MP goodness. And much appreciated as a fellow MP newb. I've gots a few, so I'll add my two cents.
Yup, MP-10 is dope. I have the US release, but he is easily one of my favorite figs. Wheeljack and Bee are next on my MP to get list.
I hope that Hasbro does eventually release Lambor/Sideswipe. I have the G2 and I'd love to 80's it up with a shiny red Countach!
@Cobs, I see your "Steppin' Out" and raise you:
There is no logic to why I like this song

Upon reflection, perhaps "superiority" was too strong a word. It all comes down to taste, so I guess "superior to me" what I shoulda said

Trust me, I had no qualms with Hasbro's MP10 (it's what got me back in the MP game) and I had no real desire to get Takara's since in the pics I saw there was nothing that left me awe struck. But when I got back in the game, I came with a completionist vengeance. So naturally when he was reissued I jumped just cause.
I ended up liking his dark blue muuuuch better, darker colors just suit the mold IMO (which is why I like YOTH Prime so much). I thought there were paint app differences, but there really isn't besides added yellow roof lights on Hasbro's (also the clear yellow plastic is a little richer on Hasby's). People seem to like H's bright blue painted eyes as opposed to T's somewhat muted clear blues. I admit this is true, however in the right light those clear blues are stunning. The dark colors and those eyes, make me weak in the knees

Here's some pics of mine (clear blues Convoy was in my display case, so the side by side shot is with my yellow eyed Convoy).

Wow! What a year. And we're going out with a BANG!
Sandy Klaus was good to me, so I must have been a good lil Tron all year long.
Here, let's spread 'em all out on the Lounge-O-Tron table and play.

Dinobot Christmas anyone?
Speaking of Dinobots, it's time for you all to point and laugh while Cobo eats crow.
Y'all know by now I have no love for the Movie designs. AOE was no exception, but as the movies often do, AOE yielded some decent toys. I was never all that vocal about my distaste for the AOE dinos, because it's just not my style to pee and/or poop in anyone's Cheerios. I thought that these dino's were hideous. Mostly their dino modes. The robot modes weren't so bad and I really wanted to like the knight theme going on in their design.
Well, it turns out I was wrong! The problem was they just weren't presented in a package that my imagination could latch on to. Until now.
Excerpt from The Black Scroll of Morgoth;
"And five rings were given to the ancient Thunder Lords.
From which the power to rise again from their hallowed graves was granted.
The rings were bound to The One, and he employed their malice not only in the form of withered kings of old, but also in the shape of giant beasts from a time long forgotten."

MAN! I just can't stop playing with these guys. What gives y'all? I mean, I've got UW Devastator, the "Toy of the Year", and I'm hunched over (like Gollum and his precious) the umpteenth Platinum repaint of last years toys I thought I hated!

Something about this evil ass deco just speaks to me. If I take away everything I know / think I know about the Autobot Dinobots, my brain is left empty to fill with a different story. A dark tail of necromanced Dinowraiths, that shadows my heart with dread.

Although I was intrigued by his heavy armored robot mode, Slog's dino mode was the one I thought I hated the most. Even after Will's raving about him, I just couldn't see it. Again I'm not one to ruin breakfast. But it turns out his dino mode is awesome. The proportions are great and he is articulated in a neat way. I love his robot mode more than I thought I could.

I think Strafe is my favorite. His robot mode is killer. I stood in the toy aisle with him in my hand many times, but never committed. He and Scorn have the best helmets.

So now that these guys have a new story. I think they will land on my Microman shelf, where they will live out there undead days as evil Acroyear spawned Ghostknight Acrowraiths summoned by ancient alien magic to lay waste to Microman and all they stand for.
Looks like Micro Knight has his work cut out.

Then there's this dynamic duo!

Man these decos are SUPREME! And I though Warrior Drift couldn't get any better. One really cool thing about Drift that we can't really glean from photos (not even my own) is that everything on him you think is black, is actually a really dark navy blue. It just makes everything POP!
I was totally happy with my Hasbro Jazz. Sure he was missing A LOT of paint, but that made him no less fun to play with. Well BONUS! This one is marvelous. It's like Carytheone showed up to the Crimus party in a fly new Puma track suit. Miles Davis shades and all.

I said it in the TAV thread, but I'll ask again. Anybot besides me want a Tigertron repaint of this guy?
How about another Dinosaur?
This is the third figure in Toyworld's Dinobot seris, Spear.
I will admitt, I am a little disappointed in his pterodon mode. Don't get me wrong, I love a big ol' G1 brick, but this guy pushes it a little over the top.

Good news though. His robot mode is pretty dope!

"Excuse me, mista. Um... You dropped dis"

"Thanks kid. You got the stuff."
GOT DAYUM! He is all big and awesomey!

Devotron wasn't technically an Xmas gift, but he showed up from Japan two days before the holiday, so he gets to hang with this haul. He is so massive. It's gonna be a minute before any "cool pics" come out of the Collect-O-Tron. Gonna need a bigger back drop.
Now for some Microfun!
Being the ultimate bargain hunter he is, Willy Jim hipped me to this set. I have been keeping my eyes peeled for Hurricane Bird for a while. You can get him packed solo, but for a few dollars more than the price of this whole set. I already have Robotman Ace, but for that price and both cats (also sold separately) I saw no reason not to throw this team on the Xmas list.
Microman Magne Powers, Impactman
Korean release by Sonokong (figures not included)

Robotman Ace

Hurricane Bird

Magne Jaguar and Cougar

Through the power of the Magne system, you can magnetically configure this guy in as many ways as your imagination can muster. Here's a little taste.

And what would Crimus be without an unexpected miracle?
Willy and I had made an agreement on a future trade. I still need to shore up things on my end, and to be honest I'm not 100% sure I can deliver. But as proof of the kinda guy WilliamJames88 is, in good faith he went ahead and sent his end of the deal.
... and this little gem rolled into my life.

OH MAMA! And I thought blue Blue was all the Datsun I needed.
"Eh? How you dew'n?"

Nice haul!
One thing though, you have to rotate scrapper's cab to lock in Devastators legs:

that triangle on it should be tapering down like a decepticon symbol.
Which makes it really wierd that Hasbro chose to have their symbol go against that indentation

While I do much much prefer the deco on your Scorn than mine (it works so well with that helmet), I can tell how the original deco for Slug works better than the chromed up look. You see unlike the others, Slug is modeled after a jousting knight and that is only apparent when you see him in his original colours.

That effect is totally lost when colours are stripped from him since the more flamboyant flaps dont end up adding to aything.
So I guess that is why my favourite of the dinobots ends up being your least favourite.

Hey ya! OK. I see it now. That is pretty cool. That just raised his stock a little for me. You know what's kinda neat about the Unleashed set, is each figure kind of retained their colors in subtle ways. Strafe has some blue tint in his translucent bits. Scorn has some red high lights. Slog still has some purple pieces. Grim has some ochre paint apps.
Not that that has anything to do with the cool point you are making, just a nice little design touch.
Oh, and BTW...

Fixed it!

I looove this pic.
That's some crimus haul bro! I recently got the last AOE Dinobot I needed (Black Knight Strafe), and I think I can safely say that the unleashed set is my favorite (aside from mustard stain Grimlock

Toyworld Swoop looking like a brick, you said it

He looks like Soundwave in Tapedeck mode with dino bits attached. Not to say I still don't want one of my own.

Out of the Datsuns, who are you missing now? Got almost all of em eh? And Origin Drift is so purdy

That family of your must like you or something. Hope y'all are feeling better

so you think the Unleashed are better than the Takara Black Knight's?

I don't have Prowl and Anime Acc. Bluestreak. I'm happy with who I have. I don't think I'll get the others, but you know, never say never.Out of the Datsuns, who are you missing now? Got almost all of em eh?
