Seeing an original character made only out of repaints would be greatly dissapointing. I just hope the retoolings will be significant enough to show some "tough mamas" à-la RID Strongarm rather than standard bots in fabulous colors.
As for the colors, it look puke-ugly as for now.
Stiiiiiiiill......
The detailed HD images of the individual bots and the combiner are yet to come. Only then will Final Jugement be made.

Burn wrote:Wolfman Jake wrote:Why do we accept Devastator or Predaking with their unified team colors for their individual members? They seem to be exceptions to the rule, but they're both celebrated. No one calls them out on having a "symmetrical" deco for all members. Bright red and teal just don't mesh well, unlike Devastator's green and purple or Predaking's orange and black motifs.
We didn't question it because that's just how it was. We were kids, they were robots that combined into a bigger robot, I for one wouldn't have cared about the colours back then.
So we've grown up accepting that Predaking and Devestator have a somewhat uniform colour scheme, while the Scramble guys don't.
We didn't really object to the crazy colours of G2, 'cause you know, TRANSFORMING ROBOTS!
But now, we're all a little bit older, our tastes have "matured" and along comes Victorion with her scramble city style combination but with a uniform colour scheme! I wonder if people may be rejecting the colours on a subconscious level because of what a lot of us grew up with.

So what is your verdict?
Delta Magnus wrote:Honestly? I reckon instead of doing this fanbuilt combiner they should have just made the new members of the G1 teams (Alpha Bravo, Offroad, Rook etc) into fembots.

Dude.
That is one HELL of a missed opportunity right there.
These characters are all new. So, why werent they femmed-up?

Thanks for posting the colors, William-James88. The first thing I thought when I saw her was "Did we really vote for those colors?!?!?"
The answer is "NO!" We voted for a friggin' green transformer with red and white highlights - not a Christmas tree nightmare of mint green, and red with black. The red and green that they are using are almost compliments of each other so they are really hard on the eyes when used the way the designers used them here.

What people voted for was teal, red and white. The problem here is people are assuming that because teal was the bigger rectangle it was going to be the dominant colour.
So on one hand, people made a mistake in assuming that, on the other hand, Hasbro kinda misrepresented the colour scheme choices.

That being said, individually, not too fussed on them. But combined? I quite like the combined mode.
Individually its kind of a fail for me. Combined though... I'm really diggin it.
I agree with burn. I mean, I just find it ridiculous that some people must insist on their figures looking like supermodels... I mean, do you want your Optimus to have a super accurate male physique with sculpted muscles???
Sucking up to me will only work if you admit I'm prettier than Va'al.
..but.. you *are* prettier!

Let's be honest though. Who would look at those colours and not assume that the big bloody rectable on the left that is taking up most of the palette is the main colour? Everyone was expecting either an orange, teal or royal blue combiner. They really overplayed the red, and should've at least divided the colours up a bit fairer on the figure. I don't even think I see any white anyway...

Va'al wrote:Deadput wrote:Actually I don't know my mother's name is Valerie so is Va'al actually my mother?
Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.
Whifflefire wrote:I think the figures look good enough. The 'uniform' color scheme, I believe, is to make this combiner look less like a mishmash of random bots and more like a conjoining of teammates.
The original Scramble city members were meant to be able to connect to any other member, so having matching colors would make it look weird when one member is relocated. It would probably discourage swapping limbs in the first place.
Assuming that there will be deco changes between now and final product, perhaps it will gain more highlight colors.(And maybe they'll change the deco on one of the helicopters so I can tell them apart!)
The only thing (to me at least) let-downy about the individual bots is that I was expecting them to have been completely re-shelled, rather than just new chest pieces, heads, and arms. Not that I mind, I only got my hopes up too high. I will be getting them regardless. I'll probably keep them in combined mode most of the time, so I can display that glorious sword.
But seriously, the chopper-bots are almost too identical. Does anyone know which is which?

All female, no ranged weapons, called "torchbearers"... Is it possible that Victorion's components are from Caminus?

Why wouldnt they be from the Sea of Rust?
