I hope if we get something like a fan built headmaster this year that it's a male for the sake of diversity I got no problem with fembots but it gets boring when you know that every single one of the fan made Transformers is going to be female.

People like devastator yet he is just a bright green and purple mess color scheme wise.
Same goes for Computron and Piranicon's color schemes.

Also, why did they have to put "Fan-Built" in the official title, and on the box? It's as if Hasbro is saying -"WE had nothing to do with this, if you hate it, its your own fault"

I love the hands and the feet. They are such an improvement over the boxing gloves that turn into midget sneakers. If hasbro went this route with all the combiners and ditched to pointless "hands/feet must do something", perfect effect would never have jumped in with add on sets. I got a Tupperware full of hasbro fists already just sitting there taking up space.
MegaDump wrote:Have they no shame? Two helicopters who share the same mold & colour scheme as limbs for one combiner? Very lazy, especially the fact that this mold has already been used for Alpha Bravo, Vortex & Blades to name a few.

...Or alternatively they still would have made them as an option for people who like their hands and feet to not become useless wastes of storage space when not attached to a combiner. Hopefully PE makes a set of replacement hands and feet that actually do something for the Torchbearers as opposed to just sitting there. They've done it for all the other combiners so I don't see why they wouldn't do it for her.

You have this complex that everything must do something. I grew up with G1 toys so I dont share that complex. Nothing is more annoying on the hotspot/mold than having combiner head kibble stuck on the vechicle or robot modes. I wish it were detachable so I could just throw it in a box when Im not using it. I could care less where combiner the hands hide in alt mode. I use my imagination. Everything doesnt need a scientific explanation. (Like mass shifting for example) Just think of it as alien technology and stop trying to hold it to the laws of earth science. Annoying parts kibble ruins all the fun. Ditto for guns that look like feet and feet that look like guns.

I dont remember fans "building" anything here. They got to vote on the color scheme, gender, and which molds get another run. I dont classify that as "building". Maybe they can say it was "fan picked", but definitely not fan built. Same thing goes for windblade.

Rodimus Prime wrote:As for the HFG, I'm not a fan of them, but they don't break my decision to buy the combiners. Perfect Effect has designed great complementary pieces to the figures, but I haven't bought them, simply because the Hasbro HFGs aren't bad enough IMO to be replaced. As for them being kibble when the combiners are separate, I don't have an opinion because I don't own the pieces. But all my combiners are in combiner mode, so the HFGs are in use.

I think it's cool how cleverly and simply many of the hfg's were integrated (breakdown, offroad, rook/swindle/brawl) I like that they give you the option to really weapon up the individual figure, while also providing a logical weapon for the combiners (knuckle-mounted weapons make a lot of sense at their size)
I'd say the only reason they may seem off putting is that many of the limbs are very wide in leg mode, making the feet look extra small, on slimmer figures (the aerialbots) they are very much in proportion with the rest of the body.

We lose a "knee" function, but for some I like to display with the leg "sideways." It makes the overall figure much more proportional, in my opinion, and offers something new to look at.
For these gals, I haven't decided if I'm going to leave Vic in gestalt mode. I like the individual bots a lot. So, for this reason, I am with those that would have liked to see more HGF integration for Vic.
On the other hand, there's always hulk hands Rook.... Just gotta figure out what to do with the feet...
