There was one thing that bugged me somewhat.
If you read about all the weird and wonderful weapons that all these Treansformers were armed with, how come they all looked and sounded pretty much the same when they were fired?
Aside from lazy animating, that is...
Concepts rarely/never utilized in the series

Even Beast Wars was pretty bad about that - must gun fire just appeared as energy balls. Even when they were rendered differently, as beam weapons or missiles, they typically lacked their special effects like poison and such. The only exceptions that come to mind are - Tigatron's Freezegun (used once on Scorponok, another time to put out a fire), Black Arachnia's Cybervenom Arrows (used once on Tigatron), Inferno's flame thrower (used several times, but I only remember him actually roasting Tarantulas with it).
Similarly, G1 TFs usually only used their special ammo once - like Track's dark-gun-thing. AFAIK that was only used once in Dinobot Island.
I figure Cybertronian weapons have a standard fire and special fire mode. That would be practical.

I liked that even the sharp shooters and eagle eye fighters still barely ever managed to hit anyone with their shots in any Transformers series.
Unless of course they were a Decepticon taking part in the 1986 movie...

Wow, this thread came back
. Nice to see the discussion is continuing with some new additions, and other points.
The sharpshooter/combiner staying together or falling apart angle I dont' really count as "concepts", but the tech-specs are a gray area I'll count. I'll go edit the list now.
*Edit* Tech spec stuff will be added later. And G1 Megatron's sword is not included, cause it was never included in the U.S. release, which is what G1 Season 1 and 2 used as a basis.

Notice it's always someone annoying getting left behind, though? Hot Rod, Arcee, Daniel, Perceptor... the Autobots are too nice to shoot one of their own, but if the Decepticons do it for them... hehehe.perceptor_mc wrote:I swear in the movie they always legged it first then worried about team mates after! (ship leaving with out arcee, transforming Autobot City knowing full well there are autobots outside the gates etc)

For anyone who hasn't seen Spotlight: Sledge (and why not?!), my gritty and dark fanfiction piece "Holiday" is posted here.

Armada Sideways...
His tailpipes were projectiles on the toy, but in the cartoon he fires laser beams from them.
Cybertron Hot Shot...
What's the point with the cyber key activated winglets in vehicle mode and no cyber key features in robot mode? Also, I don't think he ever had his gun on the car roof.
Beast Wars TM Rattrap...
When he transforms to robot mode his rat body rotates on his back.

His Cyber Key Power boosted his Engines too. Perhaps in robot mode (if it was ever utilised) he could move faster then as well?
