Just a thought!

Rodimus, no I wouldn't call him an Earth vehicle but a design of the Matrix,(at least going by the original animated movie) tho maybe Hot Rod was a 1986 guess of what a 2005 Earth vehicle could be and the look has ben kept since? Also just a thought.
Most people are betting that the Ferrari is Hot Rod. Until only 2 days ago I had gotten used to the idea and then found a post on youtube saying it HAS to be Sunstreaker which, personally, has me undecided again.
The quote can be found on Albershides' post which has all the filming videos gathered together. Down almost to the bottom, (as of today) is a post with the heading regarding Sideswipe & Ferrari in back alley/ secret filming.I don't know how to create a link to there from here (sorry!).

My problem with it possibly being Sunstreaker is what would that bring to the Transformers story compared with it being Hot Rod who could really shake things up in the final of the movies to be directed by Bay. To me if it is anyone other then Hot Rod/Rodimus then its just more cannon fodder for the decepticons IMO!!!

Given that the films already have a set of Twins, I also don't see Sunstreaker being introduced at all, unfortunately. Plus, Sunstreaker is, well, yellow. I know Sideswipe got changed to silver, but when someone says sun, I think the color yellow. Not red. And with Bumblebee occupying the "yellow Autobot car" role, that's two strikes against Sunstreaker.
If it is Hot Rod/Rodimus, I hope they don't simply try to rehash the '86 film's plot to appease G1 fans. Prime has died once already, and having him die again just to pass the Matrix to Hot Rod would be...lazy. Hopefully if he is added, he only shows glimpses of his "hero in waiting" role and is more of a "rookie" character.

I agree fully.Only anybody can argue on the technicality that a sun can be red and actually win.Hollywood Bimbos especially!!
If Sunstreaker isn't in it,at least I know he doesn't die in it!(LOL) and there will be more films so another director can always import Sunstreaker later.
It's 'execute-ive' of me, I know, but I didn't start it so it 'aint my Karma: Hot Rod..well...every Autobot arrival is a celebration in my book, but I guess I'm just conditioned to know he's a second-rate fan character and Top shelf Hasbro wildcard,in a world where few people who put him in this movie care about him or what he does in it, so I have the luxury not to bite my nails & sweat over his role in the storyline.I know whatever he does, live or die, will push the Autobot cause forward.
How his role gets rewritten, or what his role does to other roles,I have a lot of 'bothering truths' to say about. If I see him even remotely capable of fighting in a way that makes Sunstreakers' combat prowess obsolete to the future storyline, I'll have a major attitude problem.
Hot Rod, compared to Sunstreaker, is a stupid name for a warrior from outer space in a $400 million (or whatever) movie that wants to beat Avatar. And after all the cannibalization of the TF characters by the films and other recent history notes,if Hasbro goes bankrupt for it, I'll laugh and laugh and laugh....and then shop Takara.

You can't seriously think this is going to happen.

This isn't G1, it's the movieverse and you have to think about what's a better next step for the movie's story rather than how to make it conform to a previous continuity.

It was confirmed that the Nascars are not Stunticons. On the set they were called Wreckers. So I guess no Motormaster.
