Something that I kept meaning to post, and only just got round to doing while I had a spare few minutes. Could someone list which transformers landed where during the movie please? The only one that I can remember is Jazz landing in the football field.

The other thing I was wondering about was, if Sam Beckett from Quantum Leap lept into Sam, would the Autobot's be able to detect him? I'm talking about if the Autobot's had already met Sam, i.e the scene at Sam's house when he's looking for the glasses, and then for whatever reason Dr Beckett lept into Sam.

Optimus landed in a field
Ironhide landed in the girl's pool
Ratchet landed in the city... the edge of it anyways.

That's a good question about Beckett. I would say no. He had the aura of the person he lept into and only little kids, animals and mentally unbalanced people could see through this. They may scan him and detect the body of a 40 year old, but he would still look like Sam. Err, Sam Witwicky, that is.

But what about aliens? Since the TF's are aliens, would they be able to see past Witwicky and see Beckett?

He did meet aliens once, but he lept out of the body just as he was about to be abducted, so we have no way of knowing how aliens (or machines) would react to him. I was simply basing that off what was established. It is a question that cannot be answered with any definate certainty either way.

I remember that episodes, but I could have sworn he was taken while he was leaping out.

Let's say for the sake of argument TF's can see Beckett, how would they react?

Yeah, the ship was above him, shining the light down, about to beam him up when he lept.


If they saw him, Prime would want to know who he was and where Sam went, Ironhide would want to shoot him to find out where Sam went, Bumblebee would play some radio at him, trying to ask WTF did his friend go? Jazz would ask whats craking, Ratchet would wonder if it was some kind of human aging process and Barricade would send him flying into a car, slam his fist down on the bonnet and ask him if he was Ladiesman217.

Truth be told, Ironhide, Prime and BB were the only ones with enough characterisation in the film for me to answer this properly for them.

I wondered if the Autobots would be able to detect Sam leaping into Sam, as Ratchet scanned Sam to find his hormone levels (iirc?) indicating that Sam wanted to get it on with Mikela (wouldn't we all, woof!)

It just made me wonder what else Ratchet could detect apart from that, maybe a change in Sam's brain functions or something?

Well after the initial questioning I could see it turning into another "protect the flesh bag from Megatron so he doesn't steal the new technology" episode that's for sure.

Maybe you drank too much Energon or something.

Glad I'm not the only Quantum Leap fan here.

I'd venture that TFs could probably detect Beckett inside Witwicky, but I think it'd be more interesting if he leapt into an Autobot.

Or a Decepticon.

I'm trying to remember how it went. I made it up on the spot for a fellow TF/Sci Fan I worked with because we were dead that night.

They are sentient, alive, so why not? It's Sam's actual body that leaps, not just his brain. Remember that ep where he ended up in the body of a chimp?

He would need to be careful though, as he would be able to enter human sized doors and the tf he was would just sorta go through the roof like a hologram, sorta like what happened when he was that legless guy and he got up and walked. He wouldn't be able to transform though.

And when the tf materialised in the waiting room, he would put the roof out. Al would have a heart attack!

I forgot what he had to do, but he 'proved' Chimps can call up great strength and lift a person up from a ledge if that person has a connection to them and the person is in great danger. Poor Bakula spent the entire episode in nothing but dogtags and a nappy.

Jazz actually lands in a baseball field. Thanks though cause I never thought of figuring who that actually was. I knew who all the rest were, Jazz just escaped me. Notice how Optimus, Jazz and Ironhide did not have mouths before scanning? They must have incorporated that in their transformation in order to relate to humans better.

As far the Autobots being able to detect Sam Beckett if he "lept" into Sam Wickity. I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt they could detect him. If Bumble Bee couldn't detect Frenzy in Mikeala's purse as their driving around and neither could the rest as they arrive on Earth, then how are they supposed to detect Sam Beckett?

I mean Autobots are highly advanced robots that should be able to detect eachothers location, coordinance and what have you, but they can't detect Frenzy? Come on! He got all the way to the All Spark at the Hoover Dam, there's no excuse for that.

Yea, back in season 4, I think. That's why I think leaping into a TF would be no problem.
