Cover Revealed for Movie Prequel TPB

The cover to the Trade Paper Back of IDW's prequel story to the upcoming Transformers Movie, appears to have been revealed on the shopping site Amazon.com. Below is the cover that is featured on the orderpage of the TPB.

I'm normally not too Overly Skeptical, but I have to agree. Doesn't mean that it isn't kinda cool, though. In a "Cobra!" kinda way.

I've seen a TPB with art better than the normal comics. This is pathetic. It's only a photoshopped "logo" and a title.

True, but in general we don't expect that much from a TPB cover. In essence they have released the story already. They're usually just rehashes of covers already existing.

The Star Wars font at the bottom gives it away, this can't be a sanctioned logo. The 'v' shape does not match the 't' and 'f' in the actual logo, something that has already been established and should not be tampered with to maintain proper branding. This version never appears on the many other items that we have seen surface so I would venture to guess it is just a place holder until the actual cover surfaces.

In conclusion, it is an imposter! More then meets the eye if you will.

If you look closely at where the T and F meet (At the very top of the logo) you can actually see the seam between them. It looks like it was blurred over, so it would be hard to notice.

EDIT: Not to mention, the T is noticably darker than the F.

Art submitted does not have to be the actual coverart. But could be an early version. A work in progress. At that stage, they're all photoshops, in a manner of speaking.

Geez, even if it IS official, they could've put some effort into it at least. Darkening the F or brightening the T, making sure that no one sees he seam between them, and some non Star Wars font, preferably something similar to the movie logo font, would've gone a long way towards making it seem the least bit real.
