This figure was completed back in 2010, after Hasbro released their Voyager-class Megatron. At first, I really loved the figure... until I saw the movie and realized how much it didn't have in common with its CGI counterpart (it was also my first Transformer since the Beast Wars era, so I at the time had no expectations on what a good Transformers toy was

I took two RotF Megatron figures and combined them together with the limited tools, resources, and knowledge I had at the time. The project was almost complete before I found very helpful customizing tips from Jin Saotome's website and learned of HobbyLink Japan. Both helped greatly in completing the project. The knowledge acquired from this project and the newly found resources (in the form of ball joints mainly) helped me greatly in my future projects, including a newer version of Megatron with better detail and transformation (which I plan to post tomorrow).
As described, this figure was glued, melted, and screwed together mainly using two Rotf Voyager Megatron figures, with only a few spare pieces from other toys (such as Legends Jetfire legs and Lego turbines). This figure was engineered to be fully transformable; no parts forming involved!
Thanks for checking out my custom, and I hope you enjoy it! If you want to see the totally revamped, updated version, click here: http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?f=143&t=97908
