Cutting it Close !!!

Motto: "We Live for the One, We Die for the One, But we dont Die Stupidly."
Weapon: Twin Swords
Dont you people thing they are cutting it awful close and I am starting to thing the way things are lookin they may not make the movie's original launch date of June 24.

The reason I am saying that is because we have heard little on the movie's soundtrack or who is going to be the voices of the bots besides the original ones making a return.

I think the hold up is the extremly complicated CGI artwork involved with newer bots such as Devestator, the contructicons and the other newer bots such as Arcee & the Twins.

They did state that Devestator was one of the biggest things ever that Industrial Light & Magic has ever done since Star Wars.

Well, that is understandable look how complicated Optimus Looked when he just transformed into Robot mode look how many gears and details just went into that.

Good Lord could you imagine how much it will take to make 7 constructicons who are not exactly small in any details alone then ontop of that combining to form Devestator.

Also remember we are suppose to see other Combinations such as Arcee combing 3 bikes to make 1 Robot Mode this hasnt been confirmed yet I just pieced this together on my own research.

Then we got the 2 twins combining this I think reminds of on Animated how Jetfire & Jetstorm combine to make Safegaurd also they seem to fit the same bill as the Twins in the movie young dumb rookies.

Finally also not fully confirmed is Optimus & Jetfire combining to make Jet-Convoy sort of like how they done it in Armada. But unkown if it will be the exact same way or done with a new twist. My take on this, it will be done at the end of the movie in the battle against Devestator or against the Fallen.

Realizing that they are overmatched bye their enemies they unite against their foes to form Jet-Convoy.

This is my opinion also it is just a rumor that Optimus & Jetfire will combine but it does fit the bill but dont look foward to this happening to late towards the end of the movie.

Also I see something happening to Optimus in this movie at the hands of the fallen probably trying to protect Sam & Makela or his Autobots from harm.

Also will Steve Jablonsky make another epic Score Soundtrack for the movie the 1st one was epic I espically liked

Soccent Attack
Arrival of the Autobots
You're A Soldier Now
The Allspark
Decipticon Theme

This was an epic score it really fit the movie well and I hope he does another one for Revenge.

I hope they pic some decent voice actors for Sideswipe and the Twins.

If they are having trouble finding actors go back and get their animated voice overs Mudflap from Cybertron so on and so forth.

This is just my opinion on what is keeping the movie.

Full Trailer 1 with X Men Origins my guess about 2 or 3 minutes long.

Or maybe they just didn't release that information yet? Just because we haven't heard about it doesn't mean it hasn't been finalised. They are trying to keep things really quiet this time.

They wouldn't have even started animating without a finished model and they have that. It may have been the most complex thing they've done, but they don't get paid to sit around scratching their heads wondering how to pull it off; They're paid to get it done, and its likely they've just not been talking much about it.

[qupte="Rodimus2006"]Also remember we are suppose to see other Combinations such as Arcee combing 3 bikes to make 1 Robot Mode this hasnt been confirmed yet I just pieced this together on my own research. [/quote] Yeah?

I didn't think the Jetwins were dumb, just inexperienced. And, again, they wouldn't have started animating until the rumoured combination was finalised so that can't be holding them up, if they are being held up at all.

It's confirmed. It'd be madness to refute it.

And that's everyone's take on it.

At the Australian/World Premiere of the first movie (held three weeks before it's official opening) Michael Bay, in person, stated that he'd only finished the film a few hours before jumping on the plane to Australia.

So it's still plenty of time yet.

Cutting it close? Nah. Read the backstory on Star Trek: The Motion Picture, and you'll see a prime example of cutting it too close. (I still can't believe they pulled it off...)

Oooh, one other example...Scary Movie. (The original by the Wayans Brothers, when it was actually a funny franchise) They finished it about 12-16 hours before it was due to hit it's premiere. (not the release theatrically, the premiere showing.)

If folks can pull a rabbit out of their hats on movies like those (the former being effects laden, with a fully famous cast, and the latter being made on a shoe string budget) then Bay can pull off ROTF, no problem.

Believe me, Bay strikes me as the type of guy who'd be in the Paramount offices screaming his head off about there not being enough time to complete it, yet when they moved the date up last time, and this time...we heard nothing. Not a yell, not a yip. The man grabbed his camera, his script, and screamed "ACTION" and got the job done.

Seriously, he will get this film finished and on the screen by June 24th. If anyone can pull it off, he can.

Besides, he just said (I think it was Twitter?) that ILM and his digital effects company are both working around the clock to get the renders and special effects done. With professionals working three shifts, leaving the computers run 24/7, and splitting the work between the two, I'd say he's got this pretty much in the bag.

TDK had the benefit of a massively popular first movie (As opposed to TF, which quite a few people didn't like), and also Heath Ledger's death.

I know it's insensitive but I stand by the belief that TDK would not have been nearly as successful if Heath Ledger didn't die.

X-Men Origins, Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, new Harry Potter (It's almost over, don't worry), GI Joe, and Pandorum, which looks like it's working hard on becoming the next Event Horizon.

Don't say GI Joe looks stupid; it is keeping EXTREMELY close to the source. I would be more surprised if they didn't melt the Eiffel Tower.

I agree w/u about ledgers death but on the flipside people had been waiting to see the joker again since 89. About the movie season everything I might be interested comes out in May and June, and if memory serves me right the season always had a stream of interesting movies till early august. seems diff to me this year

Since '89? What about the comics or cartoons? I mean, it's not like DC just stopped using the Joker after the first Time Burton movie.

No, but casual Batman fans, or average movie goers who enjoyed the Burton films, most likely didn't read the comics or watched the cartoons.

So to them, yeah, this is the first time the Joker has been relevant to them since 1989.

And I agree, while it's sad, it's true...TDK gained a lot of it's success from Ledger's death. If he had lived, he'd have never received the Oscar (which he rightfully deserves, he was phenomenal) the film wouldn't have had as much mystique behind it, and there wouldn't have been as much hype.

Batman Begins is an excellent film, and it got the critics and public talking, but when you get down to it, it's just an excellent superhero movie, nothing out of the norm really.

The Dark Knight is pretty much the same thing, just add in Ledger's death and you have a film of mythic proportions.

I guarantee the third one (whenever they get around to making it) won't do half the business that TDK did, and maybe not even as much as Begins did.

But anywho, back on topic...no they're not cutting it that close. I'd imagine it's almost finished.

And this summer's not bad for movies, either.

Star Trek, ROTF, G.I. Joe, heck I'm even interested in seeing The Battle For Terra. Plus Disney's UP. (Which I will not be seeing. I'll wait for DVD, if at all.) Plus whatever other movies I'm not thinking of right now.

When they did the sneak peek of TF1 in February of 2007, I think the CGI was complete in the scenes they showed.

So I am kind of surprised that the ShoWest footage looks incomplete in many parts, especially Devastator:

The industry has changed a lot in recent years. It used to take well over six months to a year for a movie to go from first run (as in, not just opening date, but the last time it ran in a theater) to available on DVD or VHS ('member those?). Now it's down to four or five months (unless the movie is _From Justin to Kelly_, which holds the world record, possibly because it allegedly *sucks*). The industry figured out that if they dogpile all of their tentpole releases into May and June, they will be able to have the DVDs available for Christmas/Hannukah/Eid/Kwanzaa/Yule/winter holiday of choice.

Isn't the Wolverine flick opening next week or something? That's *early* for a 'summer blockbuster'. And the holiday-sell is probably why. Believe it or not ROTF is actually opening *late* in the new 'season'.

Michael Bay just posting the following on this blog:

The Showest footage was pulled down because it was just a 12-hour thing.

I just wanted the fans to get a taste of what we have been making for a year and a half because we have been so quiet. The piece was cut about a month ago for this Showest thing I accepted this past month - so as you can see many of the shots were far from being finished renders. This dinky little site received over 1,500,000 hits and 550,000 downloads in this short time. Anyway the trailer is being printed today and coming out on Wolverine and Star Trek. 64 days left!

your right, I do remember long vhs waits for movies after the movie stopped showing. I don't think there is enough money in the world to make sure everything is a hit in such a short amount of time. last year everybody did good. this year i predict star trek will flop, cuz as a casual fan myself I reject this new cast. they will never b "the gold standard" for the characters. sure i might watch it.... when its in the bargain bin. Idk about wolverine i wanna say flop but idk xmen is a proven winner and the third wowed expectations. i do think transformers rotf wont do as much biz as part 1..but maybe thats my hate trigger

Yes...just like....Mr. Shatner's....fantastic acting!

People keep saying "it's not going to be as good as the original" without realizing that's the same as saying "stainless steel is not as good as cardboard."

Yes, but you must realize he only became intentionally hilarious in the past few years. Before that, it was his ham acting, rumored hairpiece, and ham acting.

SamYarbrough77 wrote:the other members of the cast are envious haha.

You know that line of thinking led most of the original cast to hate him.

SamYarbrough77 wrote:how could xmen4 and star trek both have 300 million dollar expectations when they are 6 days apart in release?

It's easy: They're six days apart. They don't come out on the same day, they come out on different weekends. Meaning X-Men Origins isn't going to have the same opening weekend as Star Trek.

And just because two films are released close together doesn't mean either is going to do poorly.

3 big may movies... someone is going to be assed out. xmen, star trek terminator 4. someone is going to be crossed of the list. especially if you got a kid cgi cartoon somewhere. idk complete list. someone will lose biz because of the other. terminator could redeem the franchise. i kinda thought 3 was a remake of 2 in ways. but it could be a pretender who knows. what are your predictions shadow?
star trek=125 million take 6 weeks
xmen=140 million 3 weeks
terminator= who the hell knows
remember the drop off after opening is like 70 %

Not sure if this counts as cutting it close, but Bay says the voices for the movie are not complete yet:

“I’m still not done with all the voices,” Bay explained to us recently when we brought up “Revenge of the Fallen” robot casting for the film, which hits theaters on June 24th.

Oooh. I would've thought he'd have it completed by now. However, that's really just a small hurdle when you get down to it. The visual effects, the filming, etc...they're the hard part.

So I doubt we're seeing anymore "cutting it close" moments at this point. I'd imagine they've got most of it rounded up and ready to finalized.

And I'm not sure why Bay is so concerned about Nimoy's involvement in this. If he doesn't get him, big whoop. If he does get him, fantastic. But from all accounts of what I've seen and heard of Nimoy...the man's a rather approachable and warm gentleman. Considering he's married into the family, I sincerely doubt he would bite his head off for asking. He might turn him down, but not out of "You can't afford me" but more out of "I'm retired, thanks though!" or "TransFormers? Didn't I do that crap back in the '80s? Hell no."

Bay can blow up cities but he ain't got the brass bearings to ask if he'd do the movie...

If that doesn't show you that man really is just a man underneath all of the facade and game face, then I don't know what will.

I like to see that Bay's human like the rest of us. The fandom is so out for blood with this man that they forget he's a person too.

The voice recording was also one of the very last parts of the first film to be completed.

In most animated films, voice actors record their lines first, so that any improvised lines or personal twists on the script can be animated to reflect them.

Bay is doing it the other way round for whatever reason, but it is not such a biggy, not every character has a "standard" mouth to synch to, and if worst comes to worse, Bay can just get ILM to put some more motion blur on the film so you cannot even see the mouth moving properly :P

I think it is cause of script changes. Think about it. If they did the voice's first then the filming they would have to go back and do the voices again IF there where any changes to the script that ment the TF's lines would change. So by doing the voices last they have the FINAL script so they can just pump wright to it. COULD BE WRONG.

Nope, you are pretty much on the money regarding the first film, the script was still being tweaked long into the post production period. It's not the normal process, but it seems that is the way Bay or the producers prefers it, seeing as they seem to be doing it again.
