_Devastator_ wrote:where do you buy that case?
Which case? On my Ultra Magnus you have the City Commander armor by FansProject, Wreckers Leader upgrade by iGear, and the Perfect Effect Ultimate form pack. All of these, save iGear, can be purchased through any online retailer such as BigBadToyStore or ToyArena if the items are in stock. All of iGear's products are available here: http://shop.igeartoys.com/
:::EDIT::: In case you aren't familiar, I'll be a little more specific. The head, hammer, & shoulder missiles are part of the iGear set. Both wrist swords and the blue Targetmaster are part of the PE set. Everything else is FansProject.

I also found the black and blue backpacks sold separately and in stock at RobotKingdom.com if you don't want the whole Ultimate set. That would save you some money as well.

There's no such thing as "too many guns". Guns should be popping out left, right, front, and back. That's why I got the Classics Henkei and D.I.A. Commander. So many options for weapons loadout.
Megatron would have the good sense to run. LOL!!!

That's actually the backpack, but I see what you mean. It does look like a briefcase, in that one picture.
But yes, I'll definitely be getting the backpack this Friday, and bit by bit, every single weapon that will fit into any spare opening, including possibly some that were never intended to work with Ultra Magnus or D.I.A. Commander, or TF-Parallax, or Powered Commander... LOL!!!

Yeah, some of these third party guys are getting pretty clever. The interchangeability of the perfect effect stuff with the FP material is really cool and fun.

Hasbro certainly isn't that clever. The most clever thing they've come up with is "Ultimate Prime", which is great for the kiddies, who will likely break it the same weak they get it. Even though FP and PE products work with the Hasbro Classics Prime variants which don't appear to be available anymore anywhere, the Classics Henkei prime still is, so it seems that the clever products are really targeted at them. I wouldn't be too shocked if FP makes a trailer that works with Jet Wing Prime.

That's why my home office/home studio is off limits to everyone. A man needs his "MAN ROOM". The inner sanctum, as it were. No kids allowed.

That's one of the benefits I have of being a musician. Since I record in my home studio, that has to be in a room of the house that no one else is getting access too. Same rule applies to my computers. There's none of that "computer sharing" nonsense in my house. Everyone has there own and stays the heck away from mine. My computers. My transformers. My home office studio.

I like what you are thinking but I imagine FP stays away from the movie stuff. FP seems to like to upgrade things that aren't on Hasbro's radar. Since the movie just launched and we have at least 4 trailers for movie-verse toys(deluxe, TT voyager, legends, & ultimate), I'd imagine FansProject stays clear. Although, I have seen pictures of a custom WiP Jetwing Prime with transformable trailer. It didn't look too shabby.

i just finished redoing my attic into my tf room and no one is allowed unless accompanied by me period. my masterpieces are in one glass case(soon to be 2) and my fp stuff is in another behind glass. dia is easily my favorite 3rd party figure second only to collosus.

That's what I'm talking about. Your collection is an investment. Not the Hasbro "toys". Once we move past Hasbro and start buying Takara products, we're talking more about artwork in the form of poseable transformable figures and it's a well known fact that the MASTERPIECE figures aren't even considered to be "toys" among collectors. It's not kids buying the Masterpiece, the TX Paralax and Henkei Classics figures. No kids allowed without accompaniment. And since my computers serve my home studio, no one is allowed to touch ANYTHING on my desk and work space.

The deciding factor between Hasbro & Takara for me is color scheme and paint apps. Nothing more and nothing less. Generations Jazz: Takara>Hasbro, Generations Darkmount: Takara<Hasbro.

For me, it's the quality of the figure. I spent more on my Classics Henkei and DIA Commander trailer/Armor than I spent on my 9 figure Dark of the Moon Hasbro collection. The Takara product is just better and the fit and finish both in robot and vehicle mode, are stellar compared to my Hasbro figures. Also, poseabililty of the Classics Henkei blows away my Voyager Prime, by comparison. I'm willing to pay a bit more for a quality product from Japan, but not Hasbro. The quality just isn't there for me to justify prices that are too high, in my opinion. It's like the difference between the Hasbro Ultimate Prime and the Takara Jet Wing Prime. If you stood them side by side, it is obvious that the Takara Prime is better. Almost twice the cost, but well worth it, in my opinion.

I know what you are saying but comparing Ultimate OP to Jetwing Prime or Henkie OP to a DotM figure is like comparing apples to oranges. I'm talking about deciding between HasTak on the exact same figure. Hasbro's classic OP is better than much of the DotM figures. That's just the difference in the lines. Takara is usually better on paint applications & they usually sport chrome of you are into that. Quality wise, Hasbro & Takara are pretty close when you compare the same figure.

Perhaps, but there are some Hasbro figures I wouldn't buy and some Takara figures I definitely would buy. There are also prices I wouldn't pay for either because I want to keep this hobby at a sane level until I get signed to a recording contract. Then I'll probably end up like you 1000 figure guys with a fricken Transformer Museum in my home. I'd rather spend that on Transformers than the outrageous prices on some guitars I've seen. It helps that I've been building guitars for myself forever and know how to build what I need at lower costs than anyone can sell me a guitar for. But I can't build Transformers, so I'm pretty much down to what I want, what I would pay and what I would or wouldn't buy.
