Also, I totally hear you on the "crazy last few weeks" thing. Seems like now is the time for all of us to be wrapping up 2007 work projects, in addition to that whole Christmas shopping thing for the folks we care about.
I'm curious how the legs are looking now that they're coming together? Finding wheels of an adequate size is a real bother on this one.
Thanks bud! The head is C Wingsaber's with a few modifications. It's been shaved down and rounded out. I was also trying to look for a character that had a good mouth plate to use, so I had been cutting and cutting, then finally I just went back to the original Wingsaber face and used that. but I did replace the eyes with Armada Scavenger's and puttied up the mouth to give that true Nova Prime mouth plate.
The legs are coming together. I had to avoid the sliding idea from the original drawings and used another rotating joint. it works just as well. The only real issue I had come across is attaching the upper legs at the right point on the lower legs so when going to super mode it neither had too short nor too long legs. It took a lot of patients... but I was able to get it.
And yes, wheels... another pain in my behind. I had been looking high and low for the best wheels for my character. Started with model cars, then moved to Dollar Store toys, and then to Lego. Lego had the exact wheels I wanted, but they were too costly, and I was afraid they might be too wide. i did eventually find the wheels I wanted, and I found it in the toddler section in TRU. I know I have now wrecked some kid's dream by using a Spark Racerz car, but it worked. lol.
But here's how I found mine, I had a model wheel I liked for it's diameter and brought it to the store and measured it up against every wheel I saw that looked to be the style I wanted.
I'm really excited to see how yours is coming a long!
