Messing around with my Deathsaurus some more, I have found a transformation for the legs that i much prefer to the official configuration. I dunno why they did the original like they did, it feels limiting and stunted (original first, then reconfiguration)

I really am digging Deathsaurus still. They did this package right. He is so very good. Victory Saber, look at this, this is how you do a Haslab.

And King Solon would have been perfect for that secret third tier.

Bumping this thread to respond to this post (from myself :P ) with some news that has been recently brought to light.

It's been revealed that the reason Solon and his King Solon mech weren't considered for an additional tier for HasLab Deathsaurus... is because Hasbro and TakaraTomy don't actually own the rights to them!

According to Evan Brooks, any character or concept that was created fully uniquely for the manga is not owned by Hasbro or TakaraTomy, so HasTak can't actually use them without going through am extra hurdle (as in, spending more money to work out a deal with the actual rights holders). The original inquiry that brought this to light had asked about Deathsaurus's wife Esmeral rather than Solon, but the same still applies nonetheless.

Same reason so many characters created for the Marvel comics can't be used by Hasbro and why Hasbro takes ownership of that sort of thing with modern comics. I'm sure if they knew Transformers was going to last more than 10 years both companies would have done things differently.

It makes sense, but to be clear, its just Hasbro that dosent have the rights. TT could if they wanted to correct? Just thinking of Unite Warriors Megatronia, all made up of Manga characters that were female companions to prominent Decepticons.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

Megatronia was a toy-original character. The Victorion toy she was redecoed from already existed beforehand. Takara then came up with the deco and characterization for the toy, and then Hayato Sakamoto came up with the story in the Unite Warriors manga to advertise her as a toy.

Megatronia was all done in-house, toy to manga. The traditional mangas are all licensed out, like comics are here.

Megatronia was all done in-house, toy to manga. The traditional mangas are all licensed out, like comics are here, and as such any original characters appearing in them belong to the studio who the artist worked for at the time.
And the Unite Warriors manga was all published on TakaraTomy's website itself, rather than any by external publishing company.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought those particular female Decepticons existed previously in older Manga for some reason....

Nope. They were created for the express purpose of reusing the Victorion mold in Unite Warriors. Megatron never had a wife beforehand.
