I just got my email from fun pub that says that the Primus package that is being auctioned on ebay will not be honored. Heads up for anyone that was thinking of bidding.
Here's the actual message.
It has been brought to our attention that someone is trying to sell Primus Packages on Ebay. We do not allow this. Packages are not transferable. We will not transfer a package to anyone else. If you try to do this, we will consider this a package cancellation. We do allow those who can't come (who ordered a Primus package) to convert to a non-attending or Iacon package.
Please keep in mind that anything you bid for online is a non-attending set. We don't want you to bid on something that the owner does not have rights to sell.
Thanks!
Brian

Umm...that's crappy. Once you buy it, it's yours. FunPub has no right to be telling you what you can and cannot do with your purchases after the fact.
All of the auctions are preorders anyway, which means the items have to be purchased at BC first. Once paid for, it's completely out of FunPub's hands.
...who the hell do they think they are?

Obviously you didn't read the terms of purchase.
The Packages are non-transferable. You're free to sell your set of toys after you get them, sure. However, you can not sell your Primus Package to a 3rd party.
Why?
because as inconceivable as it is, someone could go and buy 500 or so of the Primus Packages and then sell them on Ebay for an increased price.
Not normally a problem, that's the market.
However, FP doesn't want this to happen and frankly no one else does either, hence we have non-transferable packages.

I stand corrected.
I never read it because I'm unwilling to spend any money on that piece of sh*t organization. I don't like their practices, policies, pricing, or products.
Again, I say, screw FunPub, people can do what they want. (I'm sure plenty of sellers will find a way to sell their sets on eBay.)

Um, selling the sets are not the issue. It's selling the attending package that is the problem. I'm sure FP doesn't care what someone does with their exclusive toys. But the terms of the attendee packages was that they were not transferable to another party. THAT is something they have the right to determine.
If someone bid on it, ends up winning the auction and thinks they're going to Botcon, HA! The seller would've just been better off losing the money to the cancellation fee and getting the rest of their money back!
