I'm getting the SXS Blitzwing upgrade set. Because I think the face & helmet look better.

I do like the Reprolabels upgrade stickers for this toy.

New head, biger gun, missiles, shoulder fix. Perfect.

Can't someone just make a new helmet that fits better in vehicle mode WITHOUT sacrificing the swapping face gimmick?

You’re the first person I’ve ever seen who actually likes the swapping face gimmick. I don’t see a point in having an "animated" head on a classics body. There’s already a show accurate animated figure with the head swapping gimmick for animated fans. There was no need to give it to the classics version. Personally, Ive always hated Hasbro "gimmicks" because I dont play with my figures, I just display them.

Sounds like you should be buying statues, not action figures... action being the key word here.

TBH, I mostly pose and display my figures myself.

If being a slavishly G1 representation of the character was what I wanted I wouldn't even have bought Blitzwing...

I never really cared for the term "slavish" being used to describe a G1 homage. If you dont want G1, go with the movie line or tf prime instead of buying G1 homages. Or collect gundam kits. A G1 homage should be G1, I reckon...

Also, I recall there being multiple face options for the Dr Wu set (not to be confused with the face-switching gimmick on the original toy). I wish there were more pics of that feature.

As good as it looks, I'm disappointed in Dr Wu's overlooking the totally awesome phrase "Blitz's Bitz"

I'm looking at all the different molded pieces here and thinking it's worth it:

-Two face options... with light piping!
-Huge gun with extendable nozzle... and light piping!
-Shoulder fixes... no light piping!

Plus, unlike the SXS upgrade, it looks like the doctor's color match is spot on

Does everyone still need a shoulder fix? I kind of fixed mine day one, and it's awesome. for 27 I kind of rather pay a lil more and get a Takara version to get a better looking head.

I don't need a shoulder fix, but it's nice that one's included. I'm happy with the Hasbro colors.

Yes, but still cheaper than the SXS option.
Plus I prefer the look of the pieces in this kit.


But, you are still right, it seems a bit much.
If it was $20, I'd be on it, but for $27 ... maybe not.

I definitely like this WAY more than the SXS set.

Seems like the shoulder fix isn't something you need to keep re attaching and detaching like SXS.

The head looks better to me too, face, and the skull face which looks freaky, I dig.
Price is a bit much, but if it makes the shoulders perfect, and gives us a sweet new head and weapon, I'm down.

It doesn't look like the shoulder fixes actually "fix" the tab issue - in the pics, you can see the tabs that are supposed to lock into the inside of the shoulder sort of laying on top of the shoulder instead.

I suspect that plugging the pieces into the back of the shoulder simply keeps the shoulder assembly stationary... I guess we'll see how soon enough.

Yeah, i noticed pics where the shoulders were both tabbed and untabbed in. I think the pieces just add extra mass to ensure sufficient force exists between the tabs and the back of the chest. If thats the case, then it's definitely not a hard fix that sorta creates a lock and key tab in system, but rather a 'takes more force to untab than before' system, but can still untab with enough pulling and pushing of the arms.

Much better color match and more of a robot looking head. Yup, sold.
