Durability of Masterpiece Skywarp?
Durability of Masterpiece Skywarp?

I am thinking of buying MP Skywarp, but I am a little concerned about his durability. How Durable is this toy? Will his parts break easily? Can he be transformed more than a few times without risk? Any die cast on this guy ? I like to be able to play around with my TFs a bit. When Im feeling low I transform my MP Prime, he is quite durable. Is Skywarp quite a bit less durable than prime?
I don't really want to spend a hundred dollars on a Transformer that is more a display piece and can't really be transformed.
Anyone break anything on their skywarp yet?
Im assuming the Hasbro Starscream will be pretty brittle as well.

I looked through some threads but couldn't find durability information.
I simply want to know how durable this is. Is it a toy or a display piece?
My Masterpiece Prime is great. I can transform him, take him out, drive him around etc. This is the way I like my toys.
I don't want to pay over a hundred bucks for skywarp if he is easily broken.

Breaking it down though, I'd say the Prime mold is the most durable whereas Megatron seems the most likely to have issues. Both the Seeker mold and Megatron require care and patience when transforming -- not always fun or relaxing IMO. Skywarp looks stunning BTW.
Agreed. Don't buy this mold if you're going to be continually transforming him. The first time I transformed MP Starscream, it took about 45 minutes. Now I can do it a little quicker but it still has to be done gingerly. However, the MP Prime can be transformed in 5 minutes or less once you know what you're doing and is pretty durable. This figure is just not a plaything, it a collector's showpiece.

well I like toys that I can transform and enjoy. If they break I am very upset. I love MP prime. I have both Anniversary editions. I transform them almost everyday. Ots just as durable as a G1 toy. I have not had a single problem with him. I love it because it brings me back to my old days when I would cart old Optimus with me on every road trip. Man that G1 prime probably saw 2000 transformations.

That's not really saying all that much, the piles of junker G1 figures that can be found on ebay and at the stalls of dealers at toy fairs and conventions and car boot sales are testiment to G1's 'durablity'. Sure Prime was pretty rock steady but most of the G1 Autobot cars were easily broken. I'd say the MP Seekers are as durable as you're average G1 figure just maybe not as durable as modern main line figures.

He's pretty durable, but don't go dropping him off an 8' shelf or feeding him to your dog.
As AK mentioned, so far no one has reported any problems with pieces snapping off during the transformation like MP Starscream.
Not too much die-cast. He has a die-cast internal frame, that's it. It isn't much.
MP Skywarp is pretty posable, which add hours of fun; but he's not made to be transformed every hour.

The transparent part of the stand is made of very hard sturdy plastic, its not flimsy at all. The connection with the figure's 'arse' isn't great and is definately the weekest point, so if it were to fall of a shelf you'd probably find the figure would come off the stand rather than break the stand. Youd have to diliberatly put a lot of stress on the stand to break it.

I think if you play with him gently, you might not have a lot of problems. Most of the problems I think come from when people treat the MP Seekers like they are regular toys, which they are not. What I could think that you might want to watch out for on both MP Skywarp and MP Starcream would be the little points on the tailfins.. these stick out a bit and they have a tendancy to catch on things. If they get caught they could be broken off. Plus Starscream's wings tend to be able to get broken more easily I think.Wordsworth999 wrote:Hmm ok,
