e-Hobby & Takara Tomy Mall: Transformers Cloud Discussion

TFwiki.net has apparently slotted these toys in with the G1 pages for their respective characters. Is there a rationale behind that? Is Transformers: Cloud yet another extenstion of Takara's convoluted G1 timeline?

I see no reason why not.
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

I'm guessing this was done as either a temporary thing so as to have the toys on the Wiki in some form until we know either way, OR Cloud is indeed just another alternate universe take on the G1 characters.Wolfman Jake wrote:TFwiki.net has apparently slotted these toys in with the G1 pages for their respective characters. But, unless there's something mentioned in those yet-to-be-translated text stories, there's no way it could take place in the main (Japanese) G1 timeline.
After all, it doesn't even take place in the same world as other series: Cloud World.

It's a precautionary thing.
Usually items like these are meant to be the G1 characters, it helps that the designs are very G1 ish, since their not part of any main line. If it turns out that they hail from a separate continuity then they'll be split into their own pages.

Interesting, I think a Rodimus retool from Springer could be really good if they do it right...
If it is just a repaint I might pass though. An added yellow spoiler a new head sculpt and remolding of the front end of the car would be sweet.

Thanks to Seibertron.com member Powered Convoy for pointing this bit of information out. It appears Takara Tomy's Transformers Cloud line will consist of eight figures, which will be split between the Takara Tomy Mall and e-Hobby. At present two figures have been made available for pre-order, TFC-A01 Optimus Prime via the Takara Tomy Mall and TFC-D01 Megatron via e-Hobby. That would leave six remaining figures in the line. The first chapter in line's accompanying Guardians of Time story did feature a panel with eight characters, the aforementioned TFC-A01 Optimus Prime and TFC-D01 Megatron, plus:
Speculation at this point of course.
Update:: Once again, thanks to Seibertron.com member Powered Convoy for this update:
- Rodimus as a redeco/retool of the Generations Voyager Springer mold
- Generations Voyager Fall of Cybertron Blaster
- Deluxe Jazz (? - Probably is Reveal the Shield Deluxe)
- Generations Voyager Fall of Cybertron Soundwave
- Generations Deluxe Fall of Cybertron Starscream
- Generations Deluxe Fall of Cybertron Swindle
Speculation at this point of course.
Update:: Once again, thanks to Seibertron.com member Powered Convoy for this update:

Andrew Hall, formerly of eHOBBY / Part One, said that for the first story they just used the Japanese Generations figures for the other characters that appeared in that first chapter.
I do believe whatever they have planned won't be the above other than Rodimus.

Rodimus is the only one that raised an eyebrow there. I would hope the mold would get a retool instead of just a repaint. The car mode just isn't Hot Rod enough but i'll settle for a repaint at the end of the day. It'll look neat with Sandstorm and Springer.
The rest are a total bore.

Everyone but Rodimus is supposed to be their recently released TakaraTomy Generations figure. Jazz is in another chapter and it's the TakaraTomy version of the FoC figure.
Andrew Hall, formerly of eHOBBY / Part One, said that for the first story they just used the Japanese Generations figures for the other characters that appeared in that first chapter.
I do believe whatever they have planned won't be the above other than Rodimus.

Based on Prime and Megs (as well as e-HOBBY's reputation), I'd imagine the Cloud line will be all redecos of whatever molds it winds up having.GuyIncognito wrote:Aside from Rodimus, are the others going to be repaints, or just re-releases?

That makes sense. But will they be repainted to represent different characters (like turning the Springer mold into Rodimus) or will they simply be repaints of the same character (like giving FOC Jazz a new paint job and calling it "Cloud Jazz" instead of "FOC Jazz")?

The toys of Blaster, Jazz, Starscream, Soundwave, and Swindle shown in that artwork were not Cloud toys. They were just the existing Japanese Generations toys.
The eight toys that Cloud is supposed to have are Optimus, Megatron, possibly the Springer-Rodimus redeco, and five others we know nothing about.

Takara Tomy is showing off the first two figures in their e-Hobby and Takara Tomy Mall exclusive Transformers Cloud line at Tokyo's Super Festival. TFC-A01 Optimus Prime is a repaint of Voyager Classics Optimus Prime available via the Takara Tomy Mall. TFC-D01 Megatron is a reuse of the GDO Voyager Megatron mold, which itself is a redeco/remold of the ROTF Bludgeon mold, is available via e-Hobby. Recent information suggests the Transformers Cloud line with consists of eight figures total, four through each of the aforementioned retailers. Speculation based on the line's accompanying story is we will see a repaint/remold of the Generations Voyager Springer mold into Rodimus. Images below courtesy of Temping Toys via TFW2005.

The classics Optimus strikes again! And again it shows the sheer awesomeness of the mold. Megatron is deserving of his own, new mold. This one just doesn't do it for me. Is the GEETOO tank too much to ask?
