I am writing to request a custom missile based on an idea of mine. In short, I want the broken end of a Type 2 original Optimus Prime rifle mounted on the shaft of an Energon Arcee/movie Elita-One crossbow missile.
For a few years now, I've had an idea for a character who alternated between a crossbow-like weapon (easily acquired from Energon Arcee and her many repaints) and a Optimus Prime styled laser rifle. Currently this General Lee-inspired character is a planned repaint of Cybertron Downshift. Since he currently uses Elita-One's near-black crossbow, I realized how much the launcher piece of this weapon looks like a modded version of the Laser Rifle.
Having broke 2 small versions of Prime's rifle -- in the same spot (the thin part between the handhold/rifle clip and the thicker barrel), I decided to see what the barrel half of this gun would look like if attached to the launcher. Because it completes the look I am going for, I want to have custom missiles made with the missile head replaced by the end of Prime's 1985 rifle. (The larger 1984 version and its reissue will be too big for this project.)
To make my missile:
- Load a missile into Energon Arcee/Elita-One's crossbow launcher (The other 3 pieces will not be needed for this.)
- Mark off a spot on the ridges 0.5-1 millimeter in front of the bottom lip of the launcher's cone. (This will be the spot to cut off the front of the missile. Try to leave a little give room for the missile shaft to push against the spring.)
- On the 1985 Laser Rifle (and its reissues), the easily-broken thin portion has 2 ridges. Attempt to cut (or break) at the ridge closest to the handhold.
- Glue the missle shaft to the rear of the front section/barrel of the rifle.
- Test-fit the new missile in the Elita-One/Arcee missile launcher.
