Shame on you for trying to find this on the secondary market. Get Sidearm instead. BBTS, TFSource, eBay sellers, do not sell this.

These figures are going to end up on ebay sooner or later.

I can guarantee that the fact that these are labeled as tsunami relief is going to cause the value of them to be driven through the roof.

I made a donation and in the event that I get the figure it will probably never leave my collection.

I also get the feeling that this was supposed to supplement the Shadow Scyther, but the recent turn of events has forever changed whatever the original use for this figure is. It seems highly unlikely to me that FP just happened to have $1500 of these lying around with the name Blesser in the event a natural disaster happened.

Sorry to derail the thread there, I was just thinking out loud. It is great that FP is doing what they can to get money to Japan. Even if it is just done so people can get a figure FP is managing to get a good chunk of change to people that need.

Now, I do worry how Red Cross is going to distribute the funds. They have been known to use money intended for various things for other stuff.

FP is brilliant. FP is wonderful, FP is kind. FP just plain gives a damn!! :APPLAUSE:

There quality is top notch, and the effort is just downright ingenious. I donated and they will reply back when the email is made. Regardless of what scalpers may try to do, FP to me has done the right thing.

I'd been meaning to donate since the first day of the disaster, thanks FP for making sure I got off my butt & donated. Because you guys are awesome, and I felt bad that I hadn't donated yet, you've inspired me to donate $50 and I hope it helps out those people who need it.

Apparently they hit the 1200 mark about an hour ago. That's pretty amazing. I already appreciated the work these folks did before but they're making bigger fans out of some of the casual buyers for this. I'd say that's a pretty classy, well-played move.

It is just a bit sad that it is a 3rd party company that is making this type of effort, while we have seen nothing similar from Hasbro.

They could easily pump out special editions of Ratchet, GI Joe Doc and/or Clone troop medics, and donate proceeds to the relief effort in Japan.

If anyone on the boards has any pull with Hasbro, I know I would buy such figures, over and above any other donations I have already made, and I am sure others would too.

Or they could have just donated, but have asked for no publicity.

They may have already sent a check to the Red Cross, instead of putting out some sort of limited edition toy to raise money.

Let's see other fan-based communities generate that much money with limited resources. If you think that they could've dished out $20,000 by themselves without taking a hit to their business, then I think you're sorely mistaken. For an endeavor that'd cost them...what, maybe $5,000-$10,000 tops, to make a small collectible as an incentive for people that compels people to donate 2-4 times that amount? Marketing strategy or not, they made an incredible amount with what they had. FansProject did something beneficial for themselves but more importantly, it gives sustenance to people in need.

Logistically, FansProject succeeded in something amazing, and your argument is fallacious and short-sighted on its global effects and the reality of the situation. Just saying.

You'd think they did a good amount better than that considering minimum required donation was $15. $15 x 1500 = $22500. And I'd hope a few hundred or better gave more than the bare minimum...

Well, I'll admit that I gave the bare minimum because that was all I could afford.

You have to remember that in some cases, the bare minimum is a big sacrifice.

Not trying to come across a mean, I just don't want people going into a mindset of people just donated because they wanted a figure. I was going to donate and then the annoncment of Blesser was one of those "Cool!" moments that sweetened the moment.

Really I was just grateful to donate at least a little bit.

I realize that, which is why I said 'a few hundred or better' rather than 'I'd hope most'. Didn't mean to come off like a dick if I did...

What's the latest on this? Has FansProject posted any follow-up details on how they'll be distributing this figure or when? I'm in China right now and their page isn't accessible.

I'm in no rush to get him and the reality is, even though I know I'm somewhere on the list of people who'll get one, if I don't wind up receiving one, that's OK too. I was going to donate anyway so this was just a bonus.

Was just curious though...

Their page hasn't been updated since they reached their goal. They said they will send out confirmation emails but it might take some time.

I'd like to say that this just makes singing the praise of fansproject so much easier. They make Hasblow and TakaraBlowme just look ridiculous. FP cranks high quality items and finds time to do a charity for a great cause. Also makes spending top dollar on their items a bit easier..
