Think of the Fans Project Core community as one of those dealers / distributors. We are just sanctioned by Fans Project to get exclusive releases and support the fans. Our operations are only located in North America and at this time no plans are in the works to do otherwise. We are working toward the future and your ideas are valued, but not feasible at this time.
Keeping your Steel Core in your shopping cart will not reserve you copy or guarantee that it will be available to you once they are sold out.
Thanks,
Fans Project Core Staff
Yup, deleting my account it's useless to me.
And it's dead.
Yeah, it's a really crap situation to be in and it's one I share with you, but don't go quitting the game just because you died first. The membership doesn't cost you anything and they might get their act together in the future. Like the guy said, they're new to this and don't know what they're doing. (Maybe I'm paraphrasing.)
Yes they only have one product at the moment but I'm assuming many more will come. How about making a 'Pile of Loot' type system so people can make the most of the cost of shipping without paying for the same thing three times. Surely that's the logical thing to do.
On a related topic does anyone know what number of pre-orders they're on at the moment?

Sodan-1 wrote:The cost of shipping does kind of defecate all over the 'For fans' ethos of FansProject. It's for the fans so long as it's geographically convenient. No way it'd cost $50 to ship this to the UK, so that's either wasted money or they're pocketing the difference.
Didn't Venksta say that FansProject Core isn't run by FansProject themselves, like someone's offered to be their voice? There's a noticable improvement in grammar from FansProject.com to FansProjectCore.com.
20 quid says the guys from TFCC are running the show.

Only 600? Can you name 1 other independent toy company that could get that sort of commitment from their fans? Paid up front, original non-affiliated character, no early reviews... I can't think of one.
So yes props worthy indeed.

Definitely props worthy. Especially considering some 3rd party groups have a hard time having various retailers taking a combined stock of 500 units over the initial month when preorder goes up.
xyl360 wrote:I believe the original context of the 600 orders comment was specifically regarding the fact that their website/servers didn't crash (like the official Transformers Collectors' Club's website did earlier this year and has several times in the past when their exclusives go live) because that volume (600 in 3 days) is by far lower than the number of orders processed once ordering for the Club Exclusives (Runamuck and Runabout this year) goes live, so in that context, no, it is definitely not props-worthy.

Thank you...at least someone is paying attention. Yes, the original comment was giving FP credit for how smoothly they handled that peak rush of 50 or 60 orders over the course of an hour! Mad props for their servers being able to handle an order per minute at their busiest time!Of course this is FansProject we're talking about here... They could fart and the groupies would gush over how sweet the new fragrance they've created was...

I've got a few folks that have done the same for me when getting stuff shipped straight to the US has been a ridiculous ordeal. If anyone is interested let me know. It should go without saying, but it won't cost y'all a penny more than it costs me.

Anyhow, back to the fig at hand... Anyone think since this guy's the 'core' and he has a cat's head that he might just turn into Voltron when all's said and done?
PS, that real eggy one is starting to grow on me after it has lingered about for a while...

No this is not FansProject, this is another group that sells their stuff and gets exclusives, kinda like the TFCC.
And seeing how the guy who posted that comment singed up solemnly to post that, I think it's safe to say that he's associated with them and tried to divert attention away from the stupid shipping.Forgotten wrote:Dead Metal, if you really want this guy i'll be happy to middleman for you, for anybody here that really wants it. Thanks, I'll consider your offer, just have to make sure that I have everything sorted out and if I really want him, I'll shoot you a pm once I know.
Venksta wrote:FansProject is very hands on with what goes on with FansProject Core. However, to make things run smoothly, FansProject Core is considered a separate entity from FansProject. This is needed to get things rolling once future features on the website are revealed and become active. The people that run the website and service aren't the same designers and guys dealing with the production of the toys. But they are very involved with the way things go on the Core website.
As for shipping cost, remember its a flat rate. I'm not sure how much shipping from the US to international destinations would be for SteelCore, but some of you international fans could group up with US members and get them to group buy and then ship it to you from the US.

I guess people prefer to read re-posts of what I say from other boards, over here.
Unfortunately shipping from China right now is not an option. Although the manufacturer is located in China, they are a distributor who wholesales to larger companies and only have shipping setup with the dealers they distribute to.

If crying bout trivial things is going to be a necessity perhaps we should have a sub-forum for it. That way the rest of us who paid and are interested in the product can actually have a reason to check the thread when a post is made.
or we can go back to

especially when the first post in the thread mentioned the shipping. the intent was to spark a discussion, not only about how the toy looks, but about the actual pre-order process, including pricing.

From what I understand this paint job is the exclusive & a red & blue primary paint scheme will be the general release version.

I never said FansProject Core is run by a separate group, anywhere online. FansProject is very hands on with what goes on with FansProject Core. However, to make things run smoothly, FansProject Core is considered a separate entity from FansProject.
