I just splurged and ordered these guys. I mean to get a G1 DinoKing you would pay thru the nose and they are bricks, these are fully poseable with the Victory colors to boot.

While I'm not interested in this particular team, it's nice to see a third party combiner that isn't being done by everyone else plus Hasbro. Also, since this is a Japanese-show team, it opens the possibility of maybe the Breastforce or Road Caesar down the line. Those guys I'd like to see.

i believe that tfc is doing a breastforce combiner. they showed two prototypes for a jet and tank (i dont know their names) at the tfcon third party panel

i like these japanese characters as updated third party releases because i will most likely never own the real orginal ones. this is a cool way to have them. i hope raiden is on someone's to do list as well!

gee wiz having these guys in hand now i can see the pretender shells are gonna be pretty big! also they are dinos which is always a win. like dino rider/transformers! i am looking forward to their release. the monster shells for the monstructor repaints will be pretty sweet as well.

Loosening the screws in Dinoichi's knees seem like a good plan to anyone who get him - so they don't break like EmGo316's or swapping to smaller springs donated from a Junker - I wouldn't encourage anyone to go cutting springs down like he suggests though.

If loosening the screws works then just do that !

It's a bit like installing new ratchets in an CW Optimus Prime's hips you don't over tighten the screws in that case either or you could strip the ratchets of their smaller teeth.

I am still a little shocked how small and expensive they are - I guess that is down to the combiner pieces but there are things twice the size that cost the same as them.

They came out quickly though.

so i think its very stupid to release the shells as convention exclusives. i know that fansproject said they would be released seperately but i dont recall them saying anything about being convention exclusives.

to me the shells are a key part of this set. now i have already spent $200 on the first two parts of the set and that was under the assumption that i would, when all is said and done, have a set of PRETENDER combiners. i had no problem buying them seperate. i do have a problem with driving to canada and who knows where else and attending random conventions to do so.i also have a problem paying what is probably a 100% markup from some scalper to do so.

exclusives should be repaints and the like not key accessories to existing products.

i actually feel a bit cheated becuase it seems to me they timed it so that people would spend the $200 and be invested in the set before finding out that there is a catch to completing it.

also, without their shells, how is this a DINOforce? or saurus or any other name relating to dinosaurs

i know i dont HAVE to buy the shells but, again, they are part and parcel to these characters in my opinion and its what i was lead to believe i would be getting for my money. :BANG_HEAD:

sigh..... so thats my first world problem for today

I believe they will see a mass market release. Maudhouse Toys must've gotten an early shipment or something.

hmmm, i looked at their facebook and they posted a pic of the triceratops shell with a slightly different design and different name. i posted a question if this was a mass release version or if its just different looking in the artwork.

hopefully a mass release. it appears in the art on the page that the "saddle" part may be different.

also, i was a bit whiny in my post above :-(
