Can somebody please remind me what FP are calling a deluxe these days
Code/Chromedome is about the height of MP Sideswipe. Bit skinnier but definitely bigger than a Hasbro deluxe that you'll find on the shelves right now.
Would you say Chromedome is worth 85 quid?
craggy wrote:£85? Hell no! £50 is about right for these guys, the current pre-order prices for Smart Robin and UUUU is less than that, and I think it's fair.
craggy wrote:Said it in the TW thread but it makes sense to mention it here: It'd be really nice if FP did an upgrade set for their Function X line, with recoloured heads with the alternate faceplates. Stylor stands out as being quite noticeably a different piece than the main Code figure and now Brainstorm will have a mouth instead of the faceplate I always thought of him with.

I'd get behind that and then some. They're small and would only require a minor remold. They could wait until they've finished with the main figures and then put out a bundle pack with the alternate heads, at least for the Autobots. The Decepticon Headmasters didn't vary all that much between the U.S. and Japanese animations and the figures. The Autobots were all over the place.
My biggest concern right now is that FansProject won't be releasing a Highbrow or Hardhead. I may be wrong, but I can't think of anything FansProject has released that hadn't already been covered by another third party, except maybe the missile and rifle upgrade for City Commander. Highbrow is getting some help from HeadRobots while both that group and ToyWorld have done Hardhead.

Not likely, friend. I can see Code dropping, as this is simply another wave going out to the masses. Quadruple U was originally an April release, but of course BBTS pushed it to May since we're now past the original offering date. I'd like to say UUUU (typing that makes me feel like I'm playing Magic again) will be released in May, but we simply don't have ANY other notification from FP regarding its release.
Smart Robin originally went up as a May release, I'm pretty sure that not having UUUU make its April date that we'll see SR in June or later.

Well one of the new stunticons drops in June so here's hoping we get some of these in May

I think both have similar amounts of detailing. But you bring up a good point about pricing - $30 more for the TW one (even though it will be larger than the FP one) becomes a factor. I still haven't picked up Hardbone because of the price.
I also like your idea for selling alternate heads down the line, would help people customize a bit more to their tastes and hopefully give FP extra sales.
