Frankly, Swoop is the one I'm least excited about. He seems somewhat uninspired and I'm sure that whatever con hoops I have to jump through to get a blue one will make me physically ill.

Well, from that picture, LER-05 actually came first, then LER-02. Educated guess here, but LER-03 Swoop appears to already have a render or prototype in that picture, so he's next? I'd be a little surprised if it was Grimlock, but not terribly so.

Columpio was released as LER-01. So far it looks like these will be released in order of the numbering as indicated on the picture.

I don't think we ever confirmed what LER-05 was, but let the speculation continue as to who it actually is.

I think this Swoop is just fine, although I already own Planet X's Caelus. The problem I'm having is getting overly excited about any Dinobot release when there are multiple MP versions being offered.

Speaking of which... I wish I had Soar in hand for Christmas. #-o

(I think the mace had me thinking Columpio's hammer. I don't know if we ever confirmed Paddles from any except Planet X, and even then I don't remember if it was confirmed. Ack! Derailing to PX again!)

I don't think it would be Paddles. If you look at the silhouette, LER-05's feet resemble toes, like Cubrar's, whereas Paddles would most likely have fins. Struggling to think of a dinosaur that has feet like that, unless they go for something bizarre. I saw the club type weapon and thought an Ankylosaurus maybe, but he'd be sporting some kind of shell with spikes that you'd surely be able to make out from the silhouette.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned it could be their take on IDW's Skar, as the spike on the head resembles the character in the comics. Seems quite likely to me, but no idea what dinosaur he'll become, considering Skar didn't even get to the stage where the Dynobots became Dinobots.

Personally, I don't see the point in the extra Dinobot unless this were a combining figure and he serves a purpose as such, otherwise it seems arbitrary. I get why they're releasing Not-Snarl last though. If they were releasing him before the mystery Dinobot then most people will have walked away by then. This way people who want to complete the set may be tempted by LER-05.

I’m excited about swoop. Im guessing the exclusive chromed parts of the blue “diaclone” version will be the dino head and maybe the feet and tail if he has one. If there is no pins involved, Ill be doing a parts swap to have a cartoon accurate swoop that fits in with the retail versions. The one Im least excited about is Grimlock. It’s not like he’s missing from anyones classics shelf.

The majority speculation I've seen is that it's Skar from IDW:

The head and shoulders of the silhouette are very evocative of Skar's.

Finally got my hands on Cubrar. Dino mode is awesome, really love him. Robot mode, like Columpio, has a few issues here and there, but nothing to cry over. I prefer to keep his tail untabbed so that his waist is free. The hinges are sturdy enough for the tail to stay up anyway. I'm really enjoying this line so far. I mostly like my Dinobots in their iconic alt modes, and these do not disappoint. Now I wonder when they're going to update us on Swoop...

I love these two guys. Though personally I find Sludge a more fun toy. His robot mode is more fun and he's easier to transform (I always have trouble getting Slag's legs back into dino mode).

Do we have any visuals on Swoop? Or any of the others? I think Grimlock will have to be something special for me to get him, since the FOC version fits in really well.

Also, what's this about Slag having a red head? Mine was a black head. Was it meant to include an alternate head? Or was it random distribution?

Random distribution it seems, or even a mistake. A few people ended up with a red-headed Slag. Mine is black, and I'm fine with it that way. Would prefer a red head, but since these aren't meant to represent totally G1 accurate figures a black head is fine by me. I'd be more bothered about having a red Swoop.

I find both to be very fun toys, but both their transformation sequences can be a little frustrating. Snarl is a bit fiddly, with certain parts that seem to overlap each other in an annoying way. Sometimes pieces just get in the way of each other when transforming, and you have to take care not to force anything or rub pieces together. Sludge is easier, but even he has frustrating moments. Getting the legs bent right so that the dinosaur's mid section slots together neatly can be very annoying.

Once you have either figure in their desired mode they are very fun though. The dinosaur modes look pretty faultless to me, simply love them.

I see. Glad I have a black head on mine, I think it looks better. I'm not sure if I want a red or a blue Swoop. Red would match his teammates better, but blue is toon accurate.

thats the unfortunate thing about FP's dino's. if you want a blue swoop it will likely be the "diaclone" variant, but will have chrome that will clash with with the non-diaclone/non-chromed retail versions.

Im thinking parts swap since Cubrars blue turned out to be non painted blue plastic. Im thinking the chromed parts on the blue swoop will be a golden head and feet like the toy, Im sure the wings will be the regular chrome paint used on the side pannels of the first two releases. It all depends on if its screws or pins...

Its about damn time. Sucks that its not blue though. I will definitely pick up the convention exclusive and maybe even swap out the parts if it doesnt involve screws.

I'm not feeling it as much either, but that's probably due to being used to Swoop being a box with wings and a beak. The bot mode is looking good though.
