It's a bit less Neo than Neptune and it's definitely a homage to G1 Sludge (but then so is Neptune) but it's still pretty neo- compared to, say, ToyWorld Sludge (who's more or less spot-on G1 save for the leg storage in robot mode) he looks exceedlingly neo. He actually looks pretty good next to PX's Dinobots (with similar detailing and design aesthetics, and also similar colours) but saying he looks "accurate" is pushing it a little.

Of course he doesn't look bad by any stretch, and if it weren't for the horror stories I've heard I'd be going straight for him. As it happens I think I like the look of the PX figures a bit better, especially given how good the QC is on them.

Hey Delta,
Could you clarify for me? Who have you heard "horror stories" about? Toyworld's Roar?
I'm really into what Toyworld is doing, but since this would be my first leap into the 3P world, I wanna really come at it with all the facts.

No, sorry, I was talking about Columpio- there have been multiple reports of him having very loose joints.

Got my Cubrar today. No red head. :-(

Called up my friend who said he had got one and found out he was going off of what he read and hadn't opened his Cubrar yet. He didn't have one either. So now I'm back to square one.Im confident Ill find somebody who didn't buy the retail version and has no need for it. It just a matter of time. Either that or somebody might see the potential and KO it.

So far Im loving the dino mode (except the red horns and tail tip) I have yet to transform him but will soon. I see there is a screw in the dino head, so there might be the potential for a crazy devy style upgrade in the future with proper cartoon accurate horns. Not sure if the tail tip pops off. I see no screws. I wouldn't try forcing it and risk breaking it. That's a job for Peaugh.

I don’t have the high quality camera or ability to pose the figures as dynamic as some other people do, but I thought I would take a few pics. As you can see Hasbro’s Grimlock makes a great stand in until Fansproject gives us an official one.

I am expecting a bigger Grimlock, but will wait until Prototypes hit, he follows "Not Swoop" in the lineup based on what I have seen. So probably a February reveal I am guessing, and a April May release time frame. I hope we have #3 Swoop in hand by End of March.

I'm perfectly happy with the black head. I guess he had a red head in the cartoon and (some of) the comics. But I think the black suits him better, and looks better...

I had some time to transform Cubrar back into dino mode. While I got the initial transformation done in less than 10 minutes, getting the body and tail properly tabbed together took me close to an hour. If you don't have everything in the right place, the tabs that hold the tail together will pop open when you peg the tabs that hold the back together. And while youre trying to figure that out, you have to slide the side panel tabs in properly to make that happen. It's a real tabbing nightmare on par with FP Steelcore. It is no fun to transform like Columpio which I have perfected and transform in just a few minutes. It's still an awesome figure though.

I posted this closeup of the heads over in the Neptune thread. I thought I'd put it here too, in case anyone wanted to see them in this thread.

Plus, I think with the flash, you can now see the difference between the gold metallic finish of FP and the duller yellow-gold plastic of PX.

Yeah, the gold isn't a perfect match. Bugger. That aside though I think the actual sculpting of the 2 toys go well with each other even if the colours aren't a great match.

Good pics anyway! If I do end up mixing FP with PX I might break the paintbrush out on the PX figures. I love painting with metallics anyway so it's all good.

I have gone with the Toyworld and Fansproject lines of Dinobots. But its so hard because there really are no bad ones available. They all have a few minor issues, but the offerings meet pretty much every fans desires. Whether that be Diaclone, G1, MP Scale, Neo Hybrid Design, Fall of Cybertron, IDW styling, just the amount of options available and the quality is amazing. I am so happy to be a TF fan with a good job. Because these beauties are expensive, but so worth it.

I dunno, that shot doesn't look so bad. Whoever that huge dude is he looks pretty badass.

(That said I have seen IDW Sludge's dino mode and it looks dreadful- like someone tried to merge the neo-classics look with the more organic Beast Wars/Transmetal look and failed horribly...)
