i like using classics primes for comparisons, cause who doesnt own a classics prime? last time i checked, every household in the world has 2.4 classics primes.

I'd say that the two Sludges I have (PlanetX and FP) are roughly Ultra sized. PX is much bulkier than FP. When Cubrar comes in tomorrow I'm going to post a bunch of pics. I don't know if anyone else is double dipping like I am, but later this week or early next I'll have a bunch of comparisons for you all.

Henkei's one I don't really want... for a regular G1-esque deco, I went with the Cloud version. He's on sale for $80 at BBTS, which was enough for me to bite. I shipped my POL the other day, so he should arrive early next week!

I also have the Evolution version, and it's not nearly as bad or gaudy as people seem to think.



Back On Topic... did you guys see Peaugh's review of Cubrar? A weapon handle broke mid-review...

Looked that up right after reading that post. Looks like it was one of Takours axes. Tiny piece of the handle got stuck in Takour's hand and snapped off. That is too bad... kind of expected better. Perhaps FansProject should consider making open hands for the minicons instead of closed fists. That way it would be more of a clip in thing rather than a snug enough fit to snap those tiny handles in the future?

Glad to hear people saying this. I really like him. I only ever had Target Magnus, and jumped at the chance to grab him at a very reasonable price. Couldn't be happier.

That's an option. I don't know about others, but my Cubrar has a very loose waist. I'm actually glad for the tail being able to tab in.

you can totally do that! and the tail is firm enough to stay vertical without being pegged in.

i watched it. and that totally does happen. and i hate to say it, but it really does look like he tries to cover it up with his finger, and transform it quickly so you dont see the nub stuck in the lil guys hand. and hiding it just seems odd, cause when he's transformed, those handles stick straight up and theyre clearly different lengths now.

he could have simply edited it out, or plugged how great BBTS's customer service was. its not like there wasnt ways to turn it around.

I've got United Black, United Magnus, Cloud Prime, Botcon Ginrai, and Evolution Prime.

I had the Classics Magnus-Skywarp 2-pack, as well as a loose Henkei Prime that came with an eBay lot, but sold both recently. I have my sights on SDCC Nemesis Prime (he's pretty cheap these days), so hopefully I'll be able to match your 6 again soon.

The other topic's about reviews in general, but it seems clearly broken in the video to me. It seems like he didn't think it mattered that much.

Anyhow, this still looks great to me. Those lips will take getting used to, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

and... see i dont want to dump on him too much, cause as i said i dont regret getting him. it might be all the hype i built up for myself in waiting, but i was let down. i plan to leave my FP dino's in dino mode, and his dino mode is killer. so im still happy.

To be honest, Columbo's lips bug me too. But, when he's among the masses, I don't think they'll bug me too much. Like the even more messed up CHMS faces, I don't think it'll bug me in a crowd scene.

But I do wonder, WTF is up with that? FP got pretty good at heads lately and now they're screwing up lips? Huh?

Thanks for the review. I am a bit confused though (since I am not familiar with these toys too much), Fans Project also has a Scoria right (not G1 Slag)? Is it a different mold? And is it better than Cubar?

Get the evolution version from Toysrus. It's the cheapest one out there in great G1 deco (cool chrome applications) and plus you get the best mold from AOE in premium deco with it.

Scoria is a Fans Toys, not the same as FansProject.
