To finish the team. also the image is early so maybe the final product will look better, and if not I won't get it there are plenty of others out there.

I like the 2-pack idea though. Hopefully that is the case. I quite enjoy this line so I'll keep buying them if they decide to put out a few more original characters. I'd still love to see their Glacierlord reimagined into this line. I think that would be a lot of fun.

They both look a lot skinnier than the others, and those renders have them both listed as LER-05, so I'd be surprised if it wasn't a 2 pack. This pair just isn't grabbing me. Granted, it's only a CG render, and I did say the same about Swoop, whom I actually rather like in hand. So I may change my mind down the line.

Just gotta wait a while for Snarl to come along...

As for the upcoming Dinos, they look good to me. A little weird in Dino mode, but that's kinda FP's deal from the start, going right back to City Commander.

Id say you can probably get your $100 back out of the FP Dino's to cover the cost of the PX ones. They are really nice too.

I haven't yet jumped into the Dino game, I've just been observing. Thought I would go TW based on ther Snarl, but I found Sludge to be lackluster, and decided to wait some more.

Classics Grimlock is tough to crack - he's so popular that any deviation will be met with scorn and disappointment. That's what I think we're seeing with FP. It's also why I think PX is having an easier time of it. They're delivering on simpler (or better defined) expectations.

I feel like I may have unfortunately been right about FP's Grimlock.

Time to go agonize over the TW version again and see if I want to buy in.

For the diehard classic collector, TW could have completely stolen the market had they not jumped on the combiner hype train. Their Grimlock looks alright as a combined torso but I wonder how good it would have looked not having to be a triple changer.

Dino mode resembles the bottom half of Generations FoC Grimlock with the top half of Classics glued on at the waist. Robot mode is OK, but OK and that breastplate aren't good enough when dinosaur mode is that poor. What confuses me is FansProject seem to have gone for a very G1 tyrannosaurus, but Volar's dino mode is more contemporary.

LER-06 isn't looking quite as refined as previous figures, but I'm assuming it's an early render so I'm not too worried yet.

The two femsaurs are a welcome surprise and I think I'll get them to make up the numbers along with Planet-X's Triton. Looking at the renders, I have no idea how it would work but I was wondering whether the two LER-05 figures could combine to form the original bulky silhouette.

I think people are being a little too quick to dismiss this figure. The bot mode doesn't look ground-breaking, no, but he still looks a good figure and I really like the head sculpt. Can't really judge on how the orange plastic bit will look until the final version is shown. Shoulders are rather high but I wonder if it's how it's been posed and if they're adjustable.

Alt mode looks poor in the promo shots but actually looks really good in the fan pics. The proportions are good, the Dino head sculpt looks fierce, and there seems to be some good posability. A little kibble on the underside though, but I can live with that.

Personally, I felt that a lot of people went over the top with the Swoop criticism too. Alt mode certainly isn't a Classics homage like some of the other 3P versions, but it really worked for me. I always hated the stupid feet sticking out of a torso look, and the strong legs make it look like he can really do some damage. I was playing Far Cry 4 earlier and saw an eagle do a snatch and grab on a goat, made me think of FP's Swoop, lol. Bot mode is really good on Swoop though and FP really did well to give you not only new hips for Sludge, but also the option of a blue torso for Swoop.

Yes, it doesn't blow me away as the Planet X version of Grimlock does, but I'm not ready to write him off yet and I'm eager to see how this guy turns out.

I love all these FP Dinos. I just cant get into the toyworld versions because they look like articulated versions of the vintage G1 toys thus making them look too "toyish" looking for my tastes. FP has really brought the dinobots to life using a neo yet G1 perspective that screams CHUG to me. And im no fan of the foc versions. Its not that they arent decent, but to me the designers of that silly video game pissed all over G1. It especially irks me that they are all different sizes cause I hate that crap. I think the Shuraking versions are pretty bad ass too, but once again the thought of a giant grimlock sickens me. Thats just me. FP for the win !

I keep going back to the pictures on this guy every time I read a negative comment to make sure I didn't get on the new toy hype train but I still like it. You have to be ok with FP's re-imagining through their aesthetics I be behind it though, much like MT's. This kind of seems like a mash up between the G1 character & the classics mold with FP's sharp lines. I also really like that FP was able to keep him in scale with the others they've put out. I'm anxious to read in hand reviews & see what bag of tricks this Grimlock will come with.

I give FP credit where its due. However they failed on other fronts. I totally regret buying their menasor after they over-engineered motormaster to be a complex puzzle for scholars. Hasbro made stunticons fun again. And FPs mindwipe was kind of a let down as well, mostley due to the added height and unwanted vampire aesthetic in robot mode.

Grimlock's dino mode is off putting at first, but after looking at it for a time, I see where they were going with it. Which is kinda what FP's all about. With all the talk of Grimlock, I find Snarl's dino mode is more off putting. I dislike the teeth they gave him in dino mode and the size of the head.

Still, no regrets from me on this set. What flaws they have will grow on me.

Ultimately, Grimlock here has potential. What they should have done was show concept art and keep a questionable and possibly changing hard-copy off the floor.

There are a number of things on this Grimlock that could end up being not so good...
-Grimlock head may be one of the less recognized versions
-Dino legs are yet to be confirmed as ok. Probably mistransformed, but we're not 100% on them
-Bot mode back wings look like they do something crazy with their fold instead of the classic swept back look.

I'm content to wait. The TW Grimlock is my fallback position on the TRex matter. I'm ok with however this plays out, but I'd prefer FP to prove me wrong on my doubts and release a killer Dino leader.

Fair assumption. We have to wait and see what they produce before we can truly judge. I actually quite like the Dino head, but that's because it does remind me of his face in the comics, which I really like. I'm sure the legs have been mistransformed in some pics (as well as looking very off in the digital image), as the fan taken pics don't seem to show this issue. Fair point about the back wings, they look a bit strange, but then again it could be another mistransformation. We've often seen display figures mistransformed or even tweaked after fan feedback.

I'm staying positive that this will be a good figure. Also, as said before, I'm not as picky as most. The FP aesthetic is perfect for my collection, so I have no problem with a unique looking Grimlock that doesn't look like a direct G1 homage. For this reason I'm not interested in TW's version, however I do have my eye on the Planet X version. He could be a good replacement that still suits the Classics style if FP drop the ball on this one.
