So it seems FP are keeping up their annoying and painful transformations that are no fun what so ever. Good thing everyone who has Motormaster agree that Menasor is fantastic and much greater than the sum of it's parts.Took me more than two hours... This guy is fiddly as hell. Throw your ham hands out the window when handling Diesel, there are numerous places that could break if you're not careful. I don't see myself transforming these into bot or alt mode anytime soon. The reward at the end, though...
He's easily the best looking transforming toy combiner that I own, bar none. He's also the most stable and most articulated. You can do things with this guy that you think is only possible on a deluxe or voyager figure. Combined mode is easily better looking, better proportioned, and more fun that Giant's. All the things that people complain about--the parts forming, the skeleton legs--they're all there for a reason. Also, every part included in the sets are incorporated in that giant robot you see in the pics--no pile of unused parts left on the side or in boxes. Classic Fansproject design philosophy.
Menasor is easily worth the 360 USD that I paid for it, and well worth the 390 USD most people will get the set for at retail. I find it funny that people complain a lot about this project, and say nothing about UT's Predaking. That set costs only a little under what M3 costs, and yes combined mode looks great, but everything else is mediocre.
I hope you guys get Diesel soon. I'll agree that he and his buddies leave much to be desired, particularly in bot modes, but combined they're unbeatable. The whole is definitely greater than the sum of the parts.
