Im ready for something new...
Oddly enough, I'm not. I think it boils dow to cost for me. When it comes to original characters from Hasbro, I buy many of them because they look cool and are pretty cheap. However if a 3rd Party puts out something that is just as, if not more, cool and interesting it will be a lot more expensive for a character that I don't have any previous emotional attachment to. I just don't know if I'm ready to spend that type of dough. Time will tell I suppose.
This is true for me as well.
Heartmaster looked much more appealing after he was shown to be very similar to WW Prime. But even then he's a step removed from someone like Defender. Even their new not-Broadside is too obscure for me to really want to shell out money for. I have no emotional attachment to that guy whatsoever.
Good points. I'm gonna have to start doing some re-arranging as far as my collecting goes, but I like what FP is doing. Can I always afford this..not now, but it will teach me some self control as to spending....plus Hasbro's Transformers are really, when it comes down to it in ,in my opinion, is geared for the kids.......and I really don't mind that. I get where that's coming from considering that's where it all started for me....as a kid. FP has taken a step that really comes off to me as more adult-like, if there really is such a thing in the "toy" market. I'll still be buying Hasbro, but more room is being made for FP....

I think this way both parties win. we get our transformers homage and FP can crate their original characters. granted their original character would have to have some likeness to a transformers....
Now that would be interesting... However, even with stickers, I don't know in which G1 homage would be possible to turn Steelcore into. (Said G1 because he can already be seen as an Energon homage, or a WW homage...)

I noticed the membership popup was gone but not the shopping cart. Nothing to put in it yet!

Fansproject was the best at the 3rd party game but now , well a year hiatus is very disappointing.

Looks like you're in the wrong thread.

Good question..Fp never replies to any emails I send pertaining to the matter so I guess were gonna have to wait and see. Maybe it will be like a pre-order kind of system.. They show the figures and you pay the fee for let's say, 50 bucks a peice. Then you receive the figures, possibly with some kind of comic etc etc in monthly intervals? I might be reaching I know :p

1) Better communication plan including timely images, updates and teasers
2) Release the figures when the say so and not play loose with the release dates
If I start paying for a service I'm going to be expecting more. Up until now I had just laid money down for a figure so it didn't really matter to me when the figure came out. If I pay for a service, I will be expecting precisely what that service describes and I will be as harsh on FansProjects as I will be the TFCC if either fail in their subscription service.

As always, if a product needs to be rushed in order to meet a predetermined release date then I'd rather sit patiently and twiddle my thumbs. A happy medium may be to not announce a release date or preorders until the thing is closer to being ready, not months in advance. Based on what (little) we've seen this seems to be the case with Steelcore.
On another note, FPC has been down for maintenance a lot over the past douple of days. Hopefully something big is coming.

They are not timely in their product delivery or with their information delivery.
They launched an ambitious website that has really gone nowhere. Why would I trust them with my money for longer than PayPal will allow me to file a claim for?
They've made some good stuff but this reeks of failure.

If I'm paying for a service (i.e. things will be delivered in quality and within a timeframe) and either one of the components of that service doesn't meet the expectations set from the get-go, then it's sub-par at best and a failure at worst. That's really how it is in my view.

I agree with everything here. Given their past history, I'm not trusting FansProject with my money until they prove that they can do it. So far they haven't.
