TFsource should have put a cap on this, but I suspect that they didn't think it would sell so fast. FP Snowman didn't sell out last year until sometime after release.

The TFsource listing said 'Least units produced...since...' meaning no release since FP Snowman or Cliffjumper has been this limited. Snowman was 500, and as you already mentioned, Cliffjumper was 300 pieces.

Although TFsource didn't mention it, the TFCON version of Powered Commander was limited to 500, also.

RK still has 161 of this instock, so there's still time for buyers to avoid getting gouged.

I guess I missed the "since" in that sentence. Thanks for straightening that out.

Where does it say RK is selling 600. That's how many are available. RK got 300,, TFsource got 300. The only reason why RK isn't selling out because someone said they are charging for the preorder up front.

TFsource kinda mark up the description a bit to generate sales. It's numbers are higher than the "Snowman" kit by 100, and 300 more than the CJ upgrade set. However, TFSource is only getting 300, so a little deceptive on the advertising.

And we now know no one other online retailers have the exclusive on this unless BBTS churns out 300 for their store.

I took the 600 to mean they bumped it up. I suppose that could mean half goes to TFsource. I don't believe that though. RK has been bumping up the amount available by 30 every once in a while. When I checked earlier they were at 161. Later on they went up to 191 available. They aren't selling out because RK keeps throwing more in to the heap leading me to believe they have more than 300. This has been going on for the last 24 hours.

Now the only thing I didn't like in TFSource description that this was exclusive to North America, because it's not. None the less I'm set to get mine.

RK just bumped up the total available again. 208 are availabe now. Read on another forum that there was 95 left this morning, then was bumped. Like I said, this has been going on for the last 24 hours.

This many people can't be canceling, which is a completely manual process at RK (and TFsource). RK has more than 300 it seems.

Just add any number of the item in your cart (usually a crazy number, or in this case 300 will do). You'll get a message back (upper right column) stating they only have 'x' available, and confirm whether you want to order that much. They are at 194 now.

Just checked it at 930 ct andits up to 202..Hope 1 makes till friday because Im in..

I have 4 different classic roddies and 1 of them is bout to get repainted for this.. Or I might just hang on to it till botcon

I was baffled but I guess in some bizarre way it makes some sense..Besides Im a HUGE Rodimus fan and anything with him involved is hard to resist....

Being in the IT world and still learning, no system is really foolproof. Even if it is real-time I think the number will fluctuate because they are processing the orders by charging credit or Debit cards. I don't think RK will sell out like TF source because the shipping is high, and they are charging or basically taking the money up front. It was easier to buy from TFsource because you can pay later if you like for pre-orders. So you can prepare much more easily.

But I think it is only going to be 300 for RK. So people have a chance to get one for themselves but their probably making sure they have the money.

Fansproject has updated their page with a colored version of the line art for the Shadow Scyther. They have also said that they are, due to fan request, going to include an additional pair of "Chromed dark color add-on wings and spoiler." See the post here.

I find that picture interesting in that he looks so different from Rodimus Prime to me. Just don't get the Roddy vibe from it even though it's the same mold.

As for repaints of Swindle and Blast Off, I'd love to see RID Rollbar and Mo-vor at some stage.

Think of it this way: it's a test run. They want to see how well the product will do before the actual release. By offering it as a limited product, only hardcore collectors will get it, and most likely post reviews. That way, they can see defects and overall reactions before they release Protector. See reaction, make any need changes.

Well...I have 2 issues here.

first-this is a "pre-paint" for a figure that i don't think to many people have, and if they didn't would they spend 2-3 hundred for it plus this?

second-If they made the extra fins for "fan-demand" can't they do that with the scythe for the regular henkei/classics roddy? I almost pre-ordered this simply because of the scythe to go with my plain ol' roddy but had to reconsider because of the great color difference...It just wouldn't look the same.

The set overall is absolutely fantastic and i am just hoping to all hope that the regular protector set comes with a scythe. Gotta have that color scheme working though.

The listing shows the scythe as a bonus part, so I'm fairly certain it will not be included in the regular release. It wouldn't make sense to do so anyway, since Rodimus Prime never used a scythe.

TFSource has a strict policy on canceling pre-orders. Most who preordered with them will probably not cancel because you can pay when the item arrives instcok. Gives you time to prepare.

RobotKingdom I believe was charging up front for this preorder. That's why it didn't sell out as fast, but thanks to over zealous ebay sellers who probably ordered a few per person from TFsource probably prompted people to bite the bullet than pay aftermarket prices. So I doubt if anyone would cancel.

Unlike the Shadow Commander set, and even the "Snowman" Superion Upgrade will not tout the value this set will have because in the future because to make it complete you will need a SG Rodimus or Henkei Wildrider. Those items themselves are rare, couple them together with this set could (just saying) that of some expensive TF's.
