Honestly, it's not like I'd feel anymore sophisticated buying movie line merchandise.

Hey I'm with you there. Size is overrated. If anything I'd like to see more smaller transformers. It'd be nice if they did Bumblebee and some of the others in scout size, to scale with Bulkhead's bot mode.
I think the figure looks great here. The packaging is awesome. Has a nice clean designer feel to it. It does seem that there's a lot of wasted space though. It would be a good time to have something extra hidden in there, like a special weapon or a human character or something.

The look, the transformation, the colors, and I even like the packaging.
Size??
A pretty big disappointment imo.
I know there have to be reasons, but I don't understand why scale isn't taken into account more.
Definitely getting him.

I think you're missing the point, mate. If people are paying for a Voyager, they expect to get a Voyager, not a fat Deluxe-sized dude.

I'd sooner pay voyager price for voyager quality rather than size. My hybrid style Optimus wound up costing more than a leader class, and when you come down to it, the thing's more or less scout size.
But then I like my bots small.

While I understand your point, not all Deluxes and vVoyagers have size limits. Take the Movie version of BB and put him next to a Classics one. Both are great figures, about the same price point, but with a noticeable size difference. With the cost of things these days, I'm sure the cost of materials used can factor into some smaller sized Voyagers.

im not sure bulkheads alt mode is especially outlandish compared to TF from any line, if anything he is rather ordinary, a four wheeled (edit:6 wheeled!)roundish little truck.
Good point.

I too agree with that. Most of the time the bigger bots just feel like upsized deluxes anyway.

Then why are you posting in this thread? You not buying any Animated toys doesn't contribute to this topic at all.
That Bulkhead figure is sweet. I can't wait for it to come out. Did anyone else noticed he's voiced by Dawber from Coach? Also, if you look on the back of the box.. he doesn't need a fembot, he already comes with a Ball & Chain
ooh, sorry, that was a bad one... I just couldn't resist.

Yeah, I know what you mean and I agree with you completely, don't get me wrong. All I was saying is that I can understand why some people seem a little peeved about his size, that's all.

Yeah, Bulkhead's probably the one autobot character you'd want to be outlandishly big next to the others.

Honestly I think he is in scale with the others. He is super bulky in the show, but he still comes out at about Primes height. Prowl and BB are smaller characters so they're deluxes. Seems things are right about perfect from what I can tell. I still want to see all of them lines up beside each other though for some confirmation.

1)Bulkhead is a voyager size toy in terms of material used, if his design was different and his arms were his legs hed be a tall character and nobody would be saying that hes a delux size, as it stands his long appendages are his arms, not his legs so he is a shorty voyager.
2)Importantly, if he were to be made in scale he would have to be a leader class toy, which means he'd be more like $40 and as hes one of the main characters from the beginning of the show i can bet hasbro did this on purpose to bring the price of the main characters to a more affordable range. Remember that due to his bulk if his height was raised say 30% which would put him in toon scale you would end up with a huge toy probably close to 3x the mass of the voyager sized figure.
in a nutshell: bulkhead IS justifiably a voyager and hes not to scale because hasbro wanted to keep the core characters close to each other in price range (or in the $10-20 range), they didnt want to risk not selling an in scale $40 bulkhead.
If im talking nonsense then have some hasbro insider tell me otherwise.
